Man asks Google CEO Sundar Pichai to help reset Gmail password, gets hilarious replies
Given the sheer number of services that require a set of credentials to work, forgetting a password or two is quite common. Resetting a lost password is a fairly simple process. Password recovery processes have become quite refined over the years and don’t require you to answer asinine questions. One person, however, took a rather unconventional path to reset his lost Gmail password. Instead of going about it via the regular route, a Twitter user asked the CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai, for help. While there is nothing inherently wrong with it, the reply was under a tweet talking about India’s horrific COVID-19 situation. Pichai, obviously, didn’t reply to the query, but a lot of other people did.
As expected, the user response to it was a mixed bag. Many users made fun of Madhan, while others tried to redirect him to the Gmail password reset option, which can be easily accessed via a smartphone or desktop. Madhan, who is clearly new to the whole thing, seems to be oblivious to the furore his innocuous tweet caused and went viral. Did Madhan successfully manage to reset his Gmail password? We don’t know that yet, but we hope to get an update on the matter soon-ish. Here are some of the replies to the tweet:
Currently @sundarpichai is in the US, once the travel restrictions are lifted he will personally come to your home n help you recover the pw and hopefully your wait of 2 years will end 😀. Also incase you want chocolates pl. don’t be shy to ask… until then stay home stay safe.

It will cost a 1million USD if you are willing it to be done by @sundarpichai

While the prospect of tagging a company CEO for seemingly trivial matters might come off as a bit odd, it is quite common among Indian smartphone users. A cursory glance at the support pages of companies such as Realme reveals that users tag Realme head, Madhav Sheth, for queries about warranty, broken features, and even software updates. Then again, Realme support once replied to Madhav Sheth’s tweet about the Realme 8 5G, requesting him to check with Realme social media resources to get an update on the smartphone.
