iQOO Z9s battery comparison with Moto G85 and OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite: which smartphone offers the best battery life?

Like other iQOO smartphones, the new iQOO Z9s is a performance-focused device priced competitively, starting at Rs 19,999 in India. We recently conducted a three-way performance comparison between the iQOO Z9s, Moto G85 (review), and OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite (review) to determine the best performer among them. Today, we will compare their battery performance to see which smartphone offers the best battery life and the fastest charging speed.

PCMark

The PCMark battery test measures how long a smartphone can handle video playback. We set the screen brightness to 80 percent on all three phones and monitored how long it took for the battery to drop from full to 20 percent. The iQOO Z9s lasted 16 hours and 11 minutes with its 5500mAh battery. The Moto G85 held up for 11 hours and 33 minutes, a good score for a 5000mAh battery. The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite, surprisingly, also lasted just 11 hours and 32 minutes despite having a 5500mAh battery. Based on these results, the iQOO Z9s is your best option if you’re looking for a phone with the longest battery life.

Video streaming test

For the video streaming test, we played the same YouTube video on all three phones with the brightness and volume set at 50 percent to measure battery usage. The iQOO Z9s and OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite both showed a 3 percent battery drain, while the Moto G85 drained slightly more at 4 percent. Since the iQOO Z9s and OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite have larger batteries, they naturally used less power. If you enjoy watching videos or streaming shows, the iQOO Z9s and OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite are likely to last longer.

Winner: iQOO Z9s and OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite

Gaming test

For the gaming test, we played BGMI, COD: Mobile, and Real Racing 3 on all three phones with similar volume and brightness settings. We played each game for about 30 minutes and recorded the battery usage. The iQOO Z9s had the lowest battery drain at 16 percent total (5.3 percent average), followed by the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite with an 18 percent total drain (6 percent average). The Moto G85 had a slightly higher drain at 20 percent total (6.6 percent average), which is still impressive given its smaller battery. Overall, the iQOO Z9s is the winner in the gaming test.

Charging time

The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite offers the fastest charging among the three phones with its 80W support, taking just 50 minutes to recharge fully from 20 percent battery capacity. The iQOO Z9s, with 44W fast charging, takes 66 minutes to do the same. The Moto G85, despite having 33W fast charging, takes only 62 minutes to recharge from 20 to 100 percent, likely due to its smaller battery. If quick charging is a priority for you, the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite is your best bet.

Winner: OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite

Verdict

The iQOO Z9s is the overall winner in this battery comparison. It not only achieved the best benchmark results but also proved its worth in real-world performance. While its charging speed isn’t the fastest, it still manages to recharge its large 5500mAh battery fairly quickly. The OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite takes the runner-up spot, offering solid real-world performance and the fastest charging among the three phones.

The Moto G85 falls short in battery performance due to its smaller battery and slower charging support. However, it still puts up a decent fight and is a good choice if you prefer a sleek phone with a stock Android-like UI. If battery life is your top priority, the iQOO Z9s is definitely worth considering between these three phones.
