Vivo’s most popular V series is getting a major update this month in the form of the Vivo V40 Series. This will be the first V-series lineup to have Zeiss co-engineered cameras in both vanilla and Pro variants. The expectations are high as Vivo is bringing fan-favourite upgrades. Here’s all you need to know about the upcoming phones and their India launch.

Vivo V40 series India launch date

Vivo V40 Series is launching this week in India. The Chinese brand has scheduled an event for August 7th. Fans can catch the live stream of the event at 12 noon through the brand’s official YouTube channel. Pre-orders are expected to start soon after the announcement, with sales starting sometime this month.

Vivo V40 series expected price in India

The Vivo V30 started at a price tag of Rs 33,999 for the base 8/128GB variant. The Vivo V40 with a Zeiss co-engineered camera system could be launched at a similar price tag between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000.

Meanwhile, the Vivo V40 Pro could be priced above Rs 40,000, just like its predecessor, which started at Rs 41,999 for the 8/256GB variant.

Vivo V40 series design

Both phones in the upcoming Vivo V40 series will feature a similar design with a new camera bump and 7.58mm thickness. The Vivo V40 Pro will be available in two colour options: Titanium Grey and Ganges Blue. The Vivo V40 will have three colour options, with the addition of a Lotus Purple finish.

Vivo V40 series features a curved glass on the front and is expected to come with a plastic frame. It also comes with IP68 water and dust resistance, a first for Vivo’s V-series. Another addition is a whopping 5,500mAh battery pack for the Vivo V40 Pro.

Vivo V40 series camera

Vivo has only shared camera details of the Vivo V40 Pro. The smartphone will feature four 50MP camera sensors: a 50MP IMX921 main camera with OIS, a 50MP IMX816 telephoto, a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP front camera for selfies with 92-degree FOV.

The telephoto camera will allow for a 2X optical and up to 50X digital zoom. The camera system has been co-engineered with ZEISS and brings five portrait modes with focal lengths ranging from 24mm to 100mm.
