OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9RT, Nord 2T get stable OxygenOS 14 update in India: features, how to download
OnePlus is rolling out Android 14-based OxygenOS 14 for OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9RT, and OnePlus Nord 2T in India. It will be first made available to users who signed up for Close Beta and Open Beta versions. The rollout will be done in a phased manner to the rest of the users. However, if you don’t want to wait, you can download the beta version. Here’s how you can download the update and what features you can expect.
How to download OxygenOS 14 on OnePlus 9 series, Nord 2T (beta version)
Before you proceed, ensure you have created a backup of your device data somewhere safely. Also, make sure the device has at least 30 per cent battery life, 5GB of free storage space, and a stable internet connection to download the update.
Once you meet those prerequisites, follow these steps:
Step 1: Ensure your OnePlus phone is on the latest detectable version. That would be
- LE2111_13.1.0.592(EX01) or LE2111_13.1.0.591(EX01) for the OnePlus 9, LE2121_13.1.0.592(EX01) or LE2121_13.1.0.591(EX01) for the OnePlus 9 Pro
- MT2111_13.1.0.595(EX01 or MT2111_13.1.0.592(EX01) for the OnePlus 9RT
- CPH2401_11.C.30 for the OnePlus Nord 2T
Step 2: Open the phone Settings.
Step 3: Tap on About Device > tap on the blue-coloured OxygenOS banner > tap the icon on the top right > beta program
Step 4: It will load for a second and you will see the Beta version. Tap on it.
Step 5: Read the changelog and scroll to the bottom to Apply Update.
Step 6: Enter your personal mobile number to apply for the update. In a day or two or sooner, you should receive the update. Go to About Device > Tap on the blue-coloured OxygenOS banner to see if you received an update. Download and install it.
The device may reboot in this process and once it boots to the lockscreen, unlock it and you should have the OxygenOS 14 on your phone.
If you face any issues you can roll back following the instructions on these pages: OnePlus 9/9Pro, OnePlus 9RT, and OnePlus Nord 2T.
OxygenOS 14 features: what’s new
Here’s what you will get as per the OxygenOS 14 changelog:
- Fluid Cloud is an iOS Dynamic Island-like feature that works only in the clock app and the screen recording app. For example, if you set a timer and minimize the app, a cloud-like element appears on the status bar. A long tap on it shows a detailed view and a single tap on it opens the app itself.
- File Dock is a drop-zone to save files temporarily. You don’t have to switch between two apps. Rather, save the file in the File Dock and open the app where you want to share it or paste it, swipe left from the right edge of the phone to open the sidebar, tap the File Dock option at the top and drag the saved file into the destination app.
- Content Extraction is a nifty solution to tap on any text on the screen to copy it. You can then paste or save it elsewhere.
- The Shelf gets more widget options.
- Photo and video-related permissions have been improved to restrict unwarranted access by 3rd party apps.
- Performance optimisation like faster app launch speed, smoother animations, and better system stability.
- Subtle UI changes and new Aquamorphic-themed ringtones for better user experience.
- A new carbon tracking AOD to know how much carbon emission you have avoided by walking.
