Vivo V40 Lite launch imminent as device gets FCC certification

Highlights
  • Vivo V40 Lite has appeared on the FCC certification.
  • The listing revealed the phone would come with 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity options.
  • The FCC certification also reveals the battery capacity of the phone.

Shortly after launching the Vivo V30 series, the company seems to be working on the successor, the Vivo V40 lineup. This is interesting considering the Vivo V30 phones debuted just in India in March and the successors are already appearing on various certification platforms. One such development is the Vivo V40 Lite, which now stopped at the FCC certification, as spotted by 91mobiles.

Vivo V40 Lite could arrive as an affordable model in the series

  • The Vivo V40 Lite FCC listing shows it will bear the model number V2341.
  • The certification shows the handset will have dual-SIM slots as there are two IMEI numbers listed.
  • The supporting FCC documents show the Vivo V40 Lite will pack a 5,390mAh battery but this could be marketed as 5,500mAh.
  • This is quite an upgrade over the Vivo V30 Lite, which just has a 5,000mAh cell.
  • The Vivo V40 Lite will come with 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity options.
  • The FCC listing shows the phone is manufactured by Sunwoda Electronics CO. LTD.

Vivo V40 Lite: what we know so far

Prior to the FCC certification, the Vivo V40 Lite bagged the Bluetooth SIG certification with the same model number. This revealed there will be Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. The handset also appeared on the GCF website with the same model number and this hinted at multiple 5G bands.

The Vivo V40 Lite also appeared on the IMEI database. This showed the model number V2337. This looks to be a China variant of the phone as the model number is slightly different. Initial reports claimed the phone might debut in the second quarter of 2024, so we still have time until June end for the announcement.

To recall, the Vivo V30 Lite features a 6.67-inch FHD+ E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 chipset and boots Android 14 OS out of the box. The phone has a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP front camera for selfies. There is a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
