Microsoft has announced the Surface Laptop Studio, which according to the company is the most powerful Surface it has ever built. It brings a brand new design that eliminates the removable display in favour of one that brings the screen to the front to transform the laptop into a studio mode (tablet). This is made possible through a new ultra-durable Dynamic Woven Hinge that allows the transition from one mode to another seamlessly. The laptop supports three modes: laptop, stage, and studio. In the stage mode, the display is pulled forward for gaming, streaming, docking, or presentations. The studio mode allows for uninterrupted sketching, uninterrupted writing, and other tasks.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio is already available for pre-order in select markets and will start shipping from October 5th. The laptop will launch in India in early 2022.

The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio sports a 14.4-inch PixelSense Flow display with 2,400 X 1,600 pixels resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 10-point multi-touch, 3:2 aspect ratio, and Dolby Vision. The laptop is powered by up to the Intel Core i7-11370H processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics and 4GB GDDR6 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti laptop GPU (i7 models only). The laptop packs up to 32GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 2TB removable SSD storage. There is a 1080p HD front-facing camera, mechanical keys, backlight keyboard and precision haptic touchpad.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio is equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack, dual far-field studio mics, and quad omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos. There’s a hardware TPM 2.0 chip for enterprise security and BitLocker support, Enterprise-grade protection with Windows Hello face sign-in, and Windows enhanced hardware security. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 6 ax, Bluetooth 5.1, dual USB 4.0 with Thunderbolt 4, and a surface connect port. It packs a 58Wh battery that is claimed to last up to 19 hours on a single charge.
Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio has a dock for a new Surface Slim Pen 2 underneath the keyboard, where it magnetically attaches and charges. It has a zero-pressure force and ultra-low latency for greater control and accuracy. The redesigned sharper tip offers a fine point on writing, shading, and linking.
