Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra battery, charging specifications tipped and it’s business as usual

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra specifications have been tipped and this time we get to know about the battery size and charging speed, among other details. If you were wishing for upgrades in these departments, you may be in for a disappointment. Here’s what we mean:

Galaxy S25 Ultra battery, charging, other specs (expected)

Tipster DigitalChatStation (DCS) through Weibo claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra charging speed could be 45W. That’s the same wired charging support as the Galaxy S24 Ultra and has been Samsung’s Super Fast Charging solution for its past several flagship phones (since Galaxy S20 Ultra, we believe).

Notably, Samsung offers this 45W charging support on its mid-range phone, the Galaxy M55. This shows the democratisation of features for lower-end models, but also no demarcation between premium and regular phones.

DCS also says this fast charging setup is “far behind” its Chinese competitors. The Xiaomi 14 offers 90W, the OPPO Find X7 Ultra sports 100W, the Vivo X100 Ultra has 80W, the iQOO 12 Pro has 120W, and so on.

Meanwhile, its US-born competitor Apple claims 20W charging support for iPhone 15 Pro Max and Google gives 30W charging speed on the Pixel 8 Pro. So, it is the faster player on that turf.

DCS also comments about the rumoured 5,000mAh battery of Galaxy S25 Ultra. He says by the time the S25 Ultra launches, 6,000mAh battery phones may have become the status quo.

Besides these two details, the DCS post also mentions the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor and Galaxy S25 Ultra camera features like 3x medium-focus and 5x periscope ultra-telephoto lenses. While the zoom levels seem familiar, the sensors and resolution could be upgraded. 

Similarly, the S25 Ultra’s ultrawide sensor could be bigger and improved than what’s on the S24 Ultra. The 200MP main camera could be just the same though.
