After the OPPO A3x, the company has launched the OPPO A3 5G in India. This arrives as the new A-series offering with 5G network support and is placed in the budget segment. OPPO A3 5G price in India is Rs 15,999 for the single 6GB + 128GB storage model. The handset comes in Nebula Blue and Ocean Red colours. Customers can buy the phone from the OPPO India website. There is a 10 percent instant discount with SBI, OneCard, and Bank of Baroda bank cards. There is also a 6-month no-cost EMI option.

OPPO A3 5G specifications, features

OPPO A3 5G sports a 6.67-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1000nits peak brightness, and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC paired with Mali-G57 GPU for graphics. The chipset is paired with 6GB LPDDR4x RAm and 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage. 

The OPPO phone runs on Android 14-based ColorOS 14.0.1 custom skin out of the box. We get a 50MP primary camera sensor on the back with autofocus and an LED flash. There is a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. We get a 5,100mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC fast charging support on board. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB type-C port for charging. 

OPPO says the phone is quite durable thanks to its military-grade shock resistance and multiple liquid resistance. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

What’s new on the OPPO A3 5G?

OPPO A3 5G India variant is quite different from the OPPO A3 China version. For comparison, the OPPO A3 China model comes with an FHD+ display compared to an HD+ panel on the model that was launched in India. The panel used on the China model is AMOLED, which should offer punchy and vivid colours. The OPPO A2 has a larger 6.72-inch FHD+ LTPS LCD screen but a 90Hz refresh rate.

The chipset powering the India model is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 compared to the Snapdragon 695 SoC (China model). For context, the OPPO A2 comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 SoC.

The front camera on the India model is downgraded to a 5MP sensor compared to the 8MP unit on the China version. The OPPO A2 also has a 50MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back and an 8MP selfie shooter.

The battery capacity slightly jumps from 5,000mAh to 5,100mAh capacity but the fast charging speed is the same at 45W on both models. Meanwhile, the OPPO A2 came with just 33W fast charging and a 5000mAh cell.
