Watch: Google Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro Fold designs officially revealed in new teaser videos

The Pixel 9 series is set to launch on August 13th and ahead of the event, the phones have leaked left and right. Putting an end to the leaks and speculations, Google itself has revealed the design of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold in new teaser videos. We’re expecting two more phones – the vanilla Pixel 9 and a new Pixel 9 Pro XL – which should be unveiled in the days to come. Let’s check out their official designs.

Google Pixel 9 Pro design

The Made by Google video starts by showing a prompt for Gemini to draft an email to your “dear old phone,” informing it that you are breaking up and switching to the new Pixel phone.

Then, we are introduced to the Pixel 9 Pro design. We see the phone’s white colour edition. 

As the leaks had already spilt, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a triple camera setup on the back. 

The rear camera island is pill-shaped. The camera island isn’t connected to the side frames like the preceding Pixel phones.

Meanwhile, the rear camera island on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is very different from its predecessor.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold design

You can check out the Introducing Pixel 9 Fold video on the Made by Google YouTube channel. The script of the video is the same. Google is tempting you to switch over to the new Pixel folding phone.

As mentioned already, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s rear camera island is now a rectangle with rounded corners, unlike the horizontal visor on the predecessor.

The new Fold appears to have 4 cameras on the back, one of which is a periscope lens. 

From images leaked on the NCC certification site, we gather the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will unfold flat, have slimmer bezels, and a 4,560mAh battery with 20.25W charging support. 

The Pixel 9 Pro’s NCC listing suggests a 4,558mAh battery with a 25.20W charging speed. In both cases, the charging speeds are uninspiring, to say the least.

However, we should have the actual details at the Made by Google event on August 13th when these phones finally launch.
