OnePlus Nord 4 vs Realme GT 6T performance comparison: which delivers better performance?

The OnePlus Nord 4 is now official in India with its all-new metal body and Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC onboard. Like the last iterations, the latest-gen device mainly targets productivity-focused users who enjoy occasional gaming. While the phone has all the right hardware to meet users’ expectations, it also occupies one of the most competitive smartphone segments in India.

Let’s see how the OnePlus Nord 4 fares against the Realme GT 6T (review), which draws power from the same Qualcomm chipset, in this performance comparison.

Geekbench

In the Geekbench single and multi-core tests, which evaluate the CPU’s performance under severe load, the Realme GT 6T was ahead of Nord 4 despite having the same Qualcomm chipset. Both smartphones also use the LPDDR5X RAM standard.

The scores suggest that the Realme smartphone may handle basic (app load, browsing, and so on) as well as intensive tasks (gaming and editing) more efficiently. For those number centric-users, the octa-core Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC has 1x Cortex-X4 at 2.8GHz, 4x Cortex-A720 at 2.6GHz, and 3x Cortex-A520 at 1.9GHz.

Winner: Realme GT 6T

AnTuTu

Unlike Geekbench, the AnTuTu test evaluates smartphones’ GPU performance, memory, and UI. Again, the Realme GT 6T came ahead of the OnePlus Nord 4, though not by a wide margin.

Notably, the Realme GT 6T scores more points in AnTuTu’s dedicated CPU and GPU tests.

Winner: Realme GT 6T

CPU Throttle

We tested the CPU Throttle by using the Burnout app. Again, the Realme GT 6T showed its superiority.

Its CPU exhibited nearly 58.4 percent stability under severe load. On the other hand, the Nord 4 offered 48.8 percent stability under the same stress condition.

Winner: Realme GT 6T

Gaming

While the synthetic benchmarks favour the Realme GT 6T, let’s see how the two smartphones fare in our gaming round, which includes BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) and COD (Call of Duty) playtime for 30 minutes each. For our test, we are analysing the change in temperature before and after the gaming round (image below).

After 30 minutes of BGMI, the OnePlus Nord 4’s temperature increased by 8.8 degrees Celcius, while Realme GT 6T’s internal temperature rose by 5.6 degrees Celcius.

At the end of the COD round, both phones’ temperatures increased by 10.2 and 6.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Winner: Realme GT 6T

Verdict

Based on benchmarks and our gaming analysis, the Realme GT 6T is ahead of the OnePlus Nord 4 despite both smartphones utilising the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC. The Realme GT 6T also exhibited better thermals, while the Nord 4 struggled to stay cool, likely due to its all-metal body.

Readers must note that the Nord 4 offers a relatively cleaner UI than the Realme GT 6T. Also, it’s promised to receive more years of OS upgrades (4 years of Android updates + 6 years of security upgrades).
