Samsung Galaxy S25+ to launch next year, will not be discontinued as rumoured before

Highlights
  • The Galaxy S25+ was reportedly rumoured to not launch next year.
  • A new report states that it is indeed arriving and Samsung isn’t removing the Plus model.
  • The Galaxy S25+ will be the mid-tier variant in the flagship series.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S25 series is expected to launch next year. There are rumours already about the upcoming Samsung phones and one that surfaced recently was about the Galaxy S25+ not launching next year. However, a new report has refuted that claim saying that Samsung isn’t removing the ‘Plus’ model from the lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S25+ launch may be happening after all

According to a report by Android Headlines last week, only two models from the Galaxy S25 series were spotted in the IMEI database — the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Ultra. It was presumed that Samsung would be removing the Plus model from its lineup. However, a recent report by GizmoChina said that the Galaxy S25+ has been spotted in the GSMA database confirming that it is still planned to launch next year. SamMobile had also reported saying that Samsung isn’t removing the Galaxy S25+ from the lineup.

The IMEI database seemed like a confirmation in itself since it’s required for any new phone to launch. But it was probably best to not jump the gun so quickly since there hasn’t been any other rumour about the Galaxy S25+ not launching next year. For now, we can confirm that all three models are coming next year — Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

There have been quite a few rumours and leaks around the Galaxy S25 series already. This time, Samsung is reportedly planning to use only the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset across all models. This means that there might not be an Exynos-powered Galaxy S25 next year. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also tipped to feature rounded edges and might just be the thinnest ‘Ultra’ model yet.
