HMD Crest and Crest Max are the first batch of phones to debut in India under the HMD branding. Now, we have the official launch date. The phones will be launched in the country on July 25th and the teaser image reads “A new era of portraits” is coming. The new HMD phones will be sold via Amazon and to that extent, we also have a dedicated microsite on the platform.

• HMD Crest and Crest Max are the first self-branded phones in India.
• There is a dedicated microsite on Amazon and this revealed some key details of the phones.

• This reveals the phones would come with a glass back design, which means the phones will have a premium design and build.
• The listing says the phones are ‘Engineered for easy self-repair”, which means they will come with a modular design. Recently, the company launched the HMD Skyline with repairable parts.
• The listing on Amazon reveals there will be a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper and narrow bezels.
• Though the chipset details are not revealed, HMD promises super-fast and stable performance.

The Amazon microsite says the HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max will be ‘Made in India’. Previously, HMD settled on the ‘Arrow’ moniker but was later dropped due to legal issues. There are reports that HMD Crest and HMD Crest Max will not be rebadged of the HMD Pulse/Pulse Pro. Instead, they will arrive as new models with a brand new design and 5G network support. They will also feature improved cameras.

The HMD Crest was recently surfaced on Geekbench and this revealed it will boot Android 14 OS and pack 8GB RAM. It will be powered by the Unisoc T760 5G SoC with Mali-G57 MC4 GPU. It has managed to score 669 in the single-core round and 2143 in the multi-core round.
