POCO F6 vs Realme GT 6T: design
Design-wise, both the POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T boast impressive designs. They both feature flat edges on the front, with slim bezels around the screen and a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout. The phones feature a plastic frame, which puts the weight of the phones in check.
The camera rings of the phones are placed individually on both models without any casing or borders. However, the Realme GT 6T has a darker colour on the top portion of the back panel where the camera rings are placed. The POCO F6 comes with an IP64 rating for Dust and Splash resistance, while the Realme GT 6T has an IP65 rating. They both come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, Stereo speakers, and Hi-Res audio. POCO F6 comes with an infrared sensor to control other home appliances.
POCO F6 can be purchased in Black and Titanium colours while the Realme GT comes in Fluid Silver and Razor Green.
POCO F6 vs Realme GT 6T: display
Both the POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T come with an AMOLED display, which means the colours look vivid and punchy with dark blacks. The visuals are quite immersive be it for media consumption or gaming. The phones come with a 1.5K panel, which sits above the usual 1080p panels and this increase in pixels means that the content on the screen is quite sharp and crisp with no pixelation issue.
Where Realme GT 6T takes the lead is with its LTPO technology. What’s great about this is that the refresh rate is adaptive based on the content on the screen. This will help preserve the phone’s battery capacity when it is in idle condition. The whopping 6,000nits peak brightness is a no-match to POCO F6’s 2,400nits. This will ensure the outdoor visibility and legibility of the Realme GT 6T will never be a problem.
Both phones offer HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, which come in handy when watching supported media on OTT platforms like Netflix. While the POCO F6 offers the first generation Gorilla Glass Victus protection, the Realme GT 6T has Victus 2 glass, which is more resilient to scratches and drops.
Overall, if we have to pick a winner in the display section, undoubtedly, the Realme Gt 6T takes the lead with its peak brightness, LTPO and 3+1 Pluse low-frequency flicker DC dimming technology.
POCO F6 vs Realme GT 6T: performance
The POCO F6 gets the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset compared to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset on the Realme GT 6T. This suggests the former will have a definite advantage over the Realme in real-time performance and other aspects.
The same is apparent in the benchmarks as well. While the Realme GT 6T has scored 14,50,949 on AnTuTu, the POCO F6 has managed a much higher score of 15,09,605. In the Geekbench section too the POCO F6 shows its lead. It has scored 1930 in the single-core round and 5017 in the multi-core segment. In comparison, the Realme GT 6T has achieved 1,826 on single-core and 4,544 on multi-core tests.
Though POCO F6 takes the lead in all benchmark rounds, the real-world performance of both phones is quite good. They were able to handle multitasking quite well, with impressive app opening and closing speeds. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is a new chipset and is based on a 4nm processor similar to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 but the latter comes with more powerful cores, new ISP for optics and more.
Both the Realme GT 6T and POCO F6 were able to handle gaming as well with no lags or stutters. Another added bonus is the lack of any heating issues. Though both phones are quite powerful, the winner is the POCO F6 just because it comes with a more powerful chipset.
Realme GT 6T and POCO F6 both run on Android 14 with their own custom interface on top. The phones are set to receive three years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches.
POCO F6 vs Realme GT 6T: cameras
POCO F6 features a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary camera with OIS+EIS, f/1.59 aperture, 6P Lens and an 8MP ultra-wide angle Sony IMX355 lens. There is a 20MP shooter on the front for selfies. On the other hand, the Realme GT 6T gets a Sony LYT600 sensor with OIS and an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle lens. We get a sharper 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie shooter on the front.
We should know about the POCO F6 camera when we review the phone but the IMX882 sensor is capable enough to capture decent images in good lighting conditions and the inclusion of OIS means, the noise in images during low light should be minimal.
On the other hand, our review of the Realme GT 6T notes the cameras are quite impressive. The images produce good colours even against the light. The images have warmer tones, which makes them social media-ready without any editing. The ultra-wide-angle lens is just decent for capturing wider shots but they are not the sharpest in the segment.
The 32MP selfie camera on the Realme phone should be able to click better and sharper selfies than the 20MP unit on the POCO F6.
POCO F6 vs Realme GT 6T battery, software
POCO F6 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging support. On the other hand, the Realme GT 6T gets a slightly larger 5500mAh battery with 120W SuperVOOC fast charging. With just the battery capacity, the Realme phone takes the lead and there’s a 10W charging speed difference as well.
Our review noted the Realme GT 6T can charge from 20 percent to 100 percent in about 30 minutes, which is blazing fast. On the other hand, POCO claims the charger can juice up to 100 percent in just 35 minutes, which again is quite fast.
In terms of battery department, the Realme GT 6T is a clear winner, thanks to a larger battery and slightly faster charging speed.
Verdict
Both the POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T are great value-for-money phones. They both are well-packed and have their strengths.
If performance is your only requirement, then the POCO F6 is a perfect buy. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a no-match in the segment and can easily outshine every other phone in this price range, with no exception to the Realme GT 6T as well. However, this doesn’t mean that the performance of the Realme GT 6T is bad, it is great. The phone gets close to POCO F6 in terms of benchmarks.
The Realme GT 6T takes a silent lead with its top-notch display, bigger battery, fast charging speed, and a sharper 32MP selfie camera. The cameras on both phones should be on similar lines and the software support is also similar. If cameras, battery, and display are your requirements, the Realme GT 6T is a good buy for the price.
