Honor X9b vs Redmi Note 13 Pro: Design, colours
The Honor X9b and Redmi Note 13 Pro have very different designs so you can easily tell them apart. Starting with the Honor X9b, it has a slim body with a curved display up front. The phone comes in two colour options of Midnight Black and Sunrise Orange, which has a vegan leather back. The circular camera module at the back is also based on inspiration from luxury watches, according to the brand. Overall, you get a premium-looking smartphone with the Honor X9b.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro has flat edges in comparison, and comes in a more subtle finish. There are three colour options to choose from — Coral Purple, Arctic White, and Midnight Black. The Coral Purple colour has different colours on the camera module that make it stand out. The smartphone has a glass rear panel, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top.
Both phones offer distinct designs so it’s really up to user preference over which one to go for.
Honor X9b vs Redmi Note 13 Pro: Display
Honor X9b has a 6.78-inch 1.5K Curved AMOLED display with 1200 nits of peak brightness, 1920Hz PWM Dimming technology, and 120Hz refresh rate. The standout feature here is the anti-drop display that’s claimed to offer 360-degree protection around the device. It has a shock-absorbing structure around the phone that’s said to provide resistance to drops up to 1.5 meters.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro doesn’t have an anti-drop display but it does have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, a first in the segment. In terms of specs, you get a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1920Hz PWM dimming technology, and 1,800nits of peak brightness.
The two phones offer almost the same display specs and features, and they’re both the same size as well. But the Redmi Note 13 Pro offers higher brightness over the Honor X9b.
Honor X9b vs Redmi Note 13 Pro: Cameras
Honor X9b has a triple camera setup at the back with a 108MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, you get a 16MP front camera. It’s capable of shooting 4K videos, offers up to 8x digital zoom, and has features like night mode, portrait mode, super macro and more.
With the Redmi Note 13 Pro too you get a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 200MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens. The smartphone also houses a 16MP front camera.
We can’t determine the camera capabilities but on paper the Redmi Note 13 Pro takes the lead with its 200MP primary camera, and 8MP ultra-wide camera.
Honor X9b vs Redmi Note 13 Pro: Performance
Honor X9b is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor paired with Adreno 710 GPU. You get 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage along with 8GB of additional RAM for a boost in performance. The Redmi Note 13 Pro in comparison runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor under its hood. It also has the option of 12GB RAM other than 8GB.
If we compare just the chipsets, then the Redmi Note 13 Pro has a faster one but that’s not to say the Honor X9b would perform less. It’s just based on a spec-by-spec comparison. Overall, both phones should offer a decent performance.
Honor X9b vs Redmi Note 13 Pro: Battery
This one’s a little tricky as the Honor X9b has a bigger battery but slower charging, while it’s the opposite for the Redmi Note 13 Pro. You get a 5,800mAh battery with 35W fast charging support with the Honor X9b. On the Redmi Note 13 Pro, there’s a 5,100mAh battery with 67W fast charging support.
The decision will most likely be based on what’s priority here for both the phones.
Key takeaways
The Honor X9b is indeed a tempting choice but the Redmi Note 13 Pro seems to offer more than the former. There is the price difference though as you’d have to pay around Rs 2,000 more for the 256GB variant of the Redmi Note 13 Pro. So if that isn’t an issue, then the Redmi Note 13 Pro seems like a better value-for-money deal.
