Indian energy company Okaya Power has launched a new electric scooter in India called the Okaya Freedum. The new Okaya Freedum electric scooter will join Okaya’s growing portfolio and will accompany other stable mates such as the Okaya Faast-F4 premium electric scooter and the Okaya Classiq electric scooter. The Okaya Freedum EV will be assembled at the company’s Himachal Pradesh plant. It will also be available in different variants and colours to cater to a wide customer base. 

The Okaya Freedum gets 70 to 75km claimed range on a single charge and takes 4 to 5 hours to fully charge. 

Okaya Freedum electric scooter price in India, availability 

The Okaya Freedum has been launched in India for Rs 74,899 (ex-showroom Delhi). The price mentioned excludes registration and taxation and can differ from state to state. The Freedum gets three years of battery warranty and can be had in multiple colour options such as Pearl White, Symphony Silver, Ash Grey, Fiery Red, Tantalizing Blue, Midnight Black, and Military Green.

Okaya Freedum specifications

The Okaya Freedum runs on a 250W brushless DC motor and is paired to a 48V 30Ah LFP battery. LFP batteries are safer than traditional Li-ion batteries and have lower chances of catching fire but have a lesser energy density. This powertrain helps the electric scooter manage a top speed of 25kmph that the company says it can be unlocked to go up to 36kmph. The Freedum can run for 70 to 75km claimed range on a single charge.

The Okaya Freedum gets a digital MID, push button start/stop, combined braking system, LED lighting setup, telescopic front suspension, and under-seat storage. The scooter gets an Eco riding mode and gets features such as a walk assist and motor lock.
