Xiaomi 12 is all set to launch in China on December 28th and will be one of the first flagships to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The company has also confirmed the Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12 Pro will also debut on the same stage. The phones are expected to make their debut in early 2022, most likely in January. Now, while we wait for the announcement, official-looking Xiaomi 12 renders have surfaced online courtesy of tipster Evan Blass. These images show the flagship will be available in Blue, Grey and Green colour options. There’s a large camera sensor on the back, followed by two other regular lenses and an LED flash.

Xiaomi 12 design revealed

The Xiaomi 12 has a familiar design. It flaunts a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper, narrow bezels and flat edges. The power button and volume rocker are on the bottom. On the back, the phone seems to have a vegan leather finish, triple cameras arranged in a rectangular module, and dual-LED flash. There’s 50MP engraving, which should be the primary sensor. The camera module design is almost identical to the Mi 10T.

The Xiaomi 12 has a 6.28-inch display (diagonally) and will be available in three colours: Green, Blue and Grey. The USB Type-C port, speaker grill, and SIM tray tool could be on the bottom.

Xiaomi 12 specifications

The Xiaomi 12 is said to sport an AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and Dolby Vision. It will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The triple camera layout may include a 50MP 1/1.28″ sensor with OIS support, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 123-degree FoV and a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It is likely to run on Android 12 based MIUI 13.

Xiaomi 12 might be equipped with a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging and 30W wireless fast charging. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. We should know more details when the phone launches next week. Stick around.
