iQOO U5 price, release date revealed: everything you need to know

iQOO U5, which has been officially listed in China since December 21st, has started collecting pre-orders today and will have its first sale on January 1st. The iQOO U5 is a mid-range device deploying Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 chipset and unlike its stablemates, the iQOO Neo5S and Neo5 SE, which are powered by the Snapdragon 800-series processors. The iQOO U5 succeeds the iQOO U3 in China. The iQOO U5 features a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP dual-camera set-up, Snapdragon 695 SoC, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The device will be offered in three variants – 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM models. 

iQOO U5: Price, availability 

The iQOO U5 will succeed the iQOO U3 in China and will sit below the iQOO Neo5S and Neo5 SE. There are three variants – 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB RAM models. Prices start at CNY 1,299 (approx Rs 15,327), CNY 1,399 (approx Rs 16,505) and CNY 1,499 (approx Rs 17,685) for 4GB, 6GB and 8GB models respectively. All models are paired to 128GB of internal storage. There are three colour options available – Magic Blue, Silver White, and Dark Black.

The preorders for the iQOO U5 have begun in China today and the first sale has been scheduled for January 1st. 

iQOO U5: Specifications, features 

The iQOO U5 features a 6.58-inch FHD+ AMOLED display which supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 695 SoC coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.

The device features a dual-camera set-up that consists of a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP macro camera and an LED flash. The front camera duties are handled by an 8MP camera.

The iQOO U5 draws power from a 5,000mAh battery that is capable of charging at 18W. The smartphone runs on Android 11 with iQOO UI 1.0 on top. Connectivity options include a USB Type-C port and a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.
