  • Whatsapp Last Seen may soon get the option to hide last seen from specific contacts.
  • The instant messaging app also recently announced chat transfer between iOS and Android.

WhatsApp seems to be reworking its privacy options for users sharing their Last Seen, Profile Picture, and About. As of now, users can hide their Last Seen from Everyone, My Contacts, or Nobody. When enabled, your contacts won’t be able to see when you were last available on WhatsApp and you also won’t be able to see your contact’s last seen. But sometimes, you just want to hide last seen from a particular person and WhatsApp doesn’t offer that option yet. But that is about to change soon.

As spotted by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp might be working on a new privacy setting for Last Seen, profile picture, and about. Apart from the usual three options, Everyone, My Contacts, Nobody, WABetaInfo spotted another option, “My Contacts Except.” Now, this option would let users hide their last seen, profile picture, or status from specific contacts instead of everyone. However, if you disable last seen for a specific contact, you won’t be able to see their last seen as well. The feature is currently under development and would be available in the stable build soon. The new privacy option is said to be available on both Android and iOS.

In related news, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg recently affirmed that the company is working on WhatsApp for iPad as a part of multi-device support. In the coming days, WhatsApp users would be able to use the iPad as a new linked device. Moreover, Facebook is also working to bring support to Android tablets on Whatsapp for Android. The feature is reported to be under development, and it is said to be available soon.

WhatsApp iOS and Android

Whatsapp also debuted the much-awaited chat transfer feature between iOS and Android. As of now, the feature will only allow transfer from an iPhone to Samsung’s latest Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. Meanwhile, in the next coming months, the feature would be available for every Samsung smartphone running Android 10 or above. However, there’s no word available on when this feature would be available for non-Samsung smartphones.
