iQOO 7 vs Mi 11X: prices in India, specifications, and features compared

iQOO launched the iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend in India just a few days ago. The company has switched things up a little between the Chinese and Indian variants of the smartphones, too. The Indian iQOO 7 is a rebrand of the Chinese iQOO Neo5. The iQOO 7 Legend, on the other hand, is a no-holds-barred flagship smartphone that competes with the likes of the OnePlus 9R and Mi 11X Pro. The iQOO 7 is its slightly watered-down cousin that takes on the Mi 11X. It offers near-flagship specifications at a surprisingly affordable price. But, can it hold a candle to Xiaomi’s offering? Let’s find out.

iQOO 7 vs Mi 11X: prices in India

Right off the bat, the Mi 1X is the more affordable device between the two, with its price in India being set at Rs 29,999 for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. On the flip side, the iQOO 7 Neo starts at Rs 31,990 for 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. We can justify the slightly extra cost for the marginally higher amount of memory that one gets.

iQOO 7 Vs Mi 11X: specifications

Under the hood, both the iQOO 7 and Mi 11X pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. Therefore, both smartphones should, ideally, perform identically across synthetic benchmarks. Real-world usage should largely depend on the on-device optimizations and use cases. It is also worth noting that the Mi 11X ships with UFS 3.1 storage, so it should perform a bit faster than the iQOO 7 in read and write operations. However, the iQOO 7 gets a massive advantage with its 4,400mAh battery because it supports fast charging at 66W, two times more than the Mi 11X’s 4,500mAh cell that caps out at 33W.

Furthermore, the iQOO 7 also offers an in-display fingerprint sensor compared to the Mi 11X’s side-mounted version. These features give the iQOO 7 a leg up over Xiaomi and even justify its marginally higher price tag.

Display

Both the iQOO 7 and Xiaomi Mi 11X feature nearly identical 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED screens, with exciting features such as 1,300 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ certification, and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Mi 11X, however, adds Gorilla Glass 5 protection, something that is seemingly absent from the iQOO 7.

Camera

Once again, the iQOO 7 and Xiaomi Mi 11X run quite similar camera setups. Both smartphones ship with a 48MP primary sensor. However, the iQOO 7 supplements that with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. The Xiaomi Mi 11X, on the other hand, uses an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5MP macro lens. Xiaomi’s macro lenses are quite potent when it comes to close-range photography and should easily be able to outdo whatever iQOO has to offer. The Mi 11X comes with a slightly better 20MP selfie camera, too, compared to the iQOO 7’s 16MP module. Then again, both OriginOS and MIUI have a laundry list of software-driven tweaks for their selfie cameras.

iQOO 7 vs Mi 11X: verdict

After a somewhat lackluster response following its foray into the Indian market, iQOO has really stepped things up with the iQOO 7. It is not often that we see a smartphone outdoing Xiaomi in the value-for-money department. iQOO’s decision to take a break and reevaluate its strategy seems to have worked out very well. While the Xiaomi Mi 11X has its advantages, it loses out to the iQOO 7 in areas such as fast charging support. Both the iQOO 7 and Mi 11X are among the most exciting mid-range flagships in the market right now and there doesn’t seem to be a wrong choice between them.
