POCO M3 launched in India: is it better than Realme 7i?
POCO M3 price in India and specifications have been announced in India and the smartphone will go on sale in just a few days through Flipkart. The smartphone is the successor to last year’s POCO M2 (comparison) which was quite successful in India. The POCO M3 price in India starts at Rs 10,999 and its specifications include the Snapdragon 662 SoC, 48MP triple cameras, 6,000mAh battery, and more. We decided to pit the POCO M3 against Realme 7i, which is among the popular offerings in this price segment. The Realme smartphone is also powered by Snapdragon 662 SoC, but the rest of the specifications are different from the POCO M3. Here’s a quick comparison between the two phones.

POCO M3 vs Realme 7i: prices in India
POCO M3 price in India is set at Rs 10,999 for the 64GB storage variant. The phone also comes in a 128GB storage option, which is priced at Rs 11,999. The handset will go on sale in India from February 9th onwards via Flipkart in Power Black, POCO Yellow, and Cool Blue colour options.
Realme 7i also comes in 64GB and 128GB storage options, but only the 128GB storage variant is available for sale via the company’s official e-store at the moment. The variant is priced at Rs 11,499. It’s available in Fusion Blue and Fusion Green colour options.
POCO M3 vs Realme 7i: design
POCO M3 and Realme 7i both come with a dual-tone finish, and that’s where the similarity ends. The POCO mobile phone sports a large camera island at the back, a waterdrop notch display, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, whereas the Realme 7i touts a punch-hole display, a rectangular camera module on the top left corner of the rear panel and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

POCO M3 specifications include a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 90.34 percent screen-to-body ratio, and standard 60Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the smartphone rocks Snapdragon 662 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB user-expandable storage. The handset runs Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box and houses a 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. For photography, the POCO M3 employs triple rear cameras which consist of a 48MP primary sensor, 2MP ultra-wide angle sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. The phone sports an 8MP snapper in the waterdrop notch set up on the front for selfies and video calling. In terms of connectivity, the POCO M3 features 4G LTE, Dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Type-C port for charging.
The Realme 7i specifications, on the other hand, includes a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with a 90Hz refresh rate instead of 60Hz. The smartphone is powered by the same Snapdragon 662 SoC with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB user-expandable storage as the POCO M3. However, on the imaging front, the Realme 7i touts a 64MP quad-camera setup as opposed to 48MP triple rear cameras on its counterpart. The 64MP is the primary sensor on the Realme smartphone that is paired with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a couple of 2MP B/W sensor and 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, the Realme 7i sports a 16MP selfie camera for selfies and video calling.
Software-wise, the Relame 7i runs Realme UI atop Android 10 out of the box. The phone is driven by a 5,000mAh battery and an 18W fast charging solution. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
POCO M3 vs Realme 7i: verdict
While the Realme 7i looks better than POCO M3 on paper, we can only know which one performs better after an in-depth review of the POCO M3. Specs-wise, the Realme 7i has impressive cameras and a faster, more responsive 90Hz screen, whereas the POCO M3 touts a bigger battery, 6GB RAM, and an FHD+ display.
