POCO F6 vs Realme GT 6T performance comparison: finding out the better mid-ranger

The POCO F6 (review) and Realme GT 6T are two new mid-range smartphones that prioritise performance, both featuring Snapdragon chipsets. The Realme GT 6T (review) is powered by the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset, marketed by the company as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-lite. In contrast, the POCO F6 is equipped with the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which is positioned between Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets. Here’s our comparison of the two phones to help you decide which one offers better performance, both in synthetic benchmarks and real-world scenarios.

Thanks to its higher AnTuTu score, the POCO F6 should be graphically more advanced than the Realme GT 6T. The handset achieved 15,09,605, which is roughly 50,000 more than its counterpart. The Realme smartphone scored 14,50,949 on the benchmark app.

Geekbench

The POCO F6 outperforms the GT 6T in the Geekbench test as well. The handset achieved scores of 1,930 and 5,017 in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. This is slightly higher than the Realme GT 6T’s scores of 1,826 in the single-core test and 4,544 in the multi-core test. These results suggest that the POCO F6 will be faster at tasks such as launching apps, switching between apps, and more.

The Realme GT 6T wins this CPU Throttling test round. The handset’s performance dropped to approximately 58 percent in the Burnout test. In comparison, the POCO F6 experienced a 56.60 percent drop from its peak performance. As the difference is marginal, it might not be noticeable in real-world usage.

Gaming

The real-world performance of the devices is virtually identical. We played BGMI, Real Racing 3, and Call of Duty on both the Realme GT 6T and the POCO F6 for half an hour each, using ‘Very High’ graphics settings and 60 fps. Both devices heated up to a similar extent (14-15 degrees) and showed no discernible throttling or frame drop issues.

Winner: Tie

Verdict

The comparison suggests that POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T are both exceptional mid-range smartphones with impressive performance. The handsets deliver similar performance when it comes to gaming, with no significant difference in heat management. However, if pure synthetic benchmarks are anything to go by, the POCO F6 emerges as a winner with higher AnTuTu and Geekbench scores.
