HMD Fusion with smart modular design, 108MP camera launched globally: price, specifications
HMD introduced its latest smartphone, the HMD Fusion. The phone has a modular design, with a six-pin connector on the back for adding new types of cases with different functionalities. The company is calling these ‘Smart/Fusion Outfits’ like wireless charging, a ring light, or rugged protection. Rest, the phone has an HD+ display, a 108MP primary camera, and 33W fast charging.

HMD Fusion price starts at EUR 249 (approx Rs 23,400) and comes in a single black colour. The handset will roll out globally soon. The Smart outfits will be available later this year.

The HMD Fusion sports a 6.56-inch HD+ display with 1612 X 720 pixels resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and 600nits peak brightness. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset with Adreno GPU for graphics. There is up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. It runs on Android 14 OS and the company is promising two years of OS upgrades.
Moving to cameras, the HMD Fusion has dual cameras with a 108MP primary camera with smart EIS and a 2MP depth sensor. We get a 50MP camera on the front for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS and a USB Type-C port for charging. We get a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, Qualcomm aptX Adaptive audio and an IP54 rating. It measures 164.15 X 75.5 X 8.32mm and weighs 202.5 grams.

Flashy outfit: This brings a built-in flashlight for both the front and rear cameras. There are customisable lighting and camera effects via the camera app.
Rugged outfit: As the name suggests, this case adds extra protection to the phone and is mainly aimed at those who are into outdoor adventures. This also adds an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The case also offers 5W wireless charging support.
Wireless outfit: As the name suggests, this brings wireless charging support with magnets and can charge at 5W speed. There are multiple colours to choose from.
Casual outfit: This brings a casual look to the phone and there are various colours to choose from.
The company has also introduced the Fusion Kit, which is an open-source software and hardware developer kit for third parties to bring more functional smart cases. Like the HMD Skyline, the HMD Fusion also supports Gen2 repairability and makes repairs like changing the display, back cover, battery and charging ports easy through iFixit.
