Google Pixel 9 Pro XL users complain of camera tilt issue: here’s what’s happening

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL launched recently as the most premium offering in the Pixel 9 series. Now, some users have started complaining about a camera issue they’re facing with the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Based on the issues reported, it appears that the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s telephoto camera seems to tilt slightly when switching the zoom option. Here’s a detailed look at it. 

Google Pixel 9 Pro XL camera tilt issue

• According to this one Pixel 9 Pro XL user on Reddit (via Android Headlines), the issue cropped up when recording a video and switching from 2x to 5x zoom. The camera would tilt slightly although you’d hold the phone steady.
• The user even shared a GIF where the camera tilt is visible. The replies in the Reddit thread indicate that there are other Pixel 9 Pro XL who are also facing the same issue. 
• The camera tilt issue is occurring in both the telephoto and ultra-wide cameras of the Pixel 9 Pro XL. But in some cases, it’s only the telephoto lens that’s causing the tilt. 
• Another user said that the tilt gets fixed in a second and doesn’t stay constant. Still, the issue can be an annoyance for users, especially from a phone that they’ve just bought and an expensive one at that. 

It looks like the camera tilt issue is affecting only some Pixel 9 Pro XL (review) users for now. We didn’t face any such issue with our Pixel 9 Pro XL review unit. Google has yet to respond and it’s not clear why exactly this is happening with the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s cameras.

The Pixel 9 Pro XL seems to have wireless charging issues as well. According to a user on Reddit, the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s wireless charging starts fine but fails after a few seconds or minutes. This happened with a car charger and a battery pack with MagSafe. The OP updated saying that they spoke with Google who acknowledged that it is a bug and are looking into it.
