The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra features a ‘Teardrop Hinge,’ which the company claims to be the thinnest and lightest hinge on a clamshell foldable phone. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is the first clamshell foldable to feature a vapour chamber for cooling during heavy usage.

However, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has an IP48 rating, offering better protection against dust and water splashes than the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra’s IPX8 protection. Regardless of which clamshell foldable you pick, both devices have a premium build.

Motorola Razr 50 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: display

The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra is a clear winner in the display department, both the main and cover screen. For the main screen, you get a bigger size, better LTPO panel, and smoother 165Hz refresh rate with the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. However, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6’s Dynamic AMOLED panel should deliver a better viewing experience than the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra’s pOLED screen.

In the cover display department, the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra offers a superior screen in every aspect. It has an FHD+ resolution, advanced LTPO technology, a smoother 165Hz refresh rate, and a bigger screen estate. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover screen still only offers HD resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

Motorola Razr 50 Ultra vs Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6: performance

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a slight edge over the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, thanks to the top-of-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC at its helm. In our testing, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 easily outperforms the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 on all benchmark platforms.

However, that doesn’t mean that the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra isn’t a capable device. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 at the heart of the device will still provide robust performance and handle everything equally well as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 would. Neither of the devices should disappoint you in terms of performance and should handle anything you throw at them well enough.
