POCO F6 vs Realme GT 6T battery comparison: which one is a battery champ?

The POCO F6 (review) and Realme GT 6T (review) are close competitors for the best value-for-money smartphones phone in the sub-Rs. 35,000 price range. Both smartphones are equipped with different specifications, including battery capacity. The Realme GT 6T boasts a larger battery cell and supports faster charging speeds compared to its counterpart. Do these on-paper differences translate into superior battery performance for the Realme smartphone in real-world usage? We aim to find out in this POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T battery comparison.

PC Mark

We ran the PC Mark Work 3.0 battery life test to determine the battery endurance of both phones. This test determines how long the battery can last with a continuous video loop. In this test, the POCO F6 lasted for 11 hours and 42 minutes, while the Realme GT 6T achieved 13 hours and 16 minutes. The extra 500mAh battery gave the Realme GT 6T a clear edge over the POCO F6.

Video Streaming

For a real-world test, we streamed a 30-minute YouTube video at the maximum resolution, at 50 percent brightness and audio levels on both smartphones. After the test, the Realme GT 6T saw a battery drop of 3 percent (165mAh), while the POCO F6’s battery dropped by 4 percent (200mAh).

This clearly depicts that Realme GT 6 T’s battery optimization is better than POCO F6’s, and the extra 500mAh gives Realme another point.

Gaming Test

The Realme GT 6T also performed better in our gaming test, which involved a 30-minute session per game for BGMI, Call of Duty Mobile, and Real Racing 3. The average total battery drop on POCO F6 after 90 minutes was 7 percent (350mAh), identical results were observed in the case of Realme GT 6T where the battery dropped by 7 percent (385mAh).

Winner: Tie

Charging Test

Realme and POCO both include a 120W power adapter in the box; however, only Realme GT 6T can utilise it to its full potential, as POCO F6 supports only 90W Turbocharging.

To top up the battery from 20 percent to 100 percent, POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T both took 32 minutes for their respective 5,000mAh and 5,500mAh cell. So practically it is a tie, but technically Realme is a winner as it packs a larger battery.

Final Verdict

The results are clear: the Realme GT 6T, with its larger battery, slightly better battery optimisation, and actual 120W SUPERVOOC charging, is an outright winner. This does not mean that the POCO F6 is an inferior phone by any means, as it offers better raw power and graphic performance when compared to the Realme GT 6T. However, if battery and charging are your priorities, Realme GT 6T will be a better option.
