CMF Phone (1) chipset, key specs tipped; concept image surfaces online

Highlights
  • CMF Phone (1) is expected to arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC.
  • The phone was earlier tipped to be a rebadged version of the Nothing Phone (2a).
  • The CMF Phone (1) might come at a starting price of around Rs 12,000.

Following the launch of the Nothing Phone (2a) in March, Nothing’s sub-brand, CMF, is planning to introduce the CMF Phone (1). While recent reports suggested that the CMF Phone (1) might be a rebranded variant of the Phone (2a) with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, a new tip hints that the phone might feature the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset.

CMF Phone (1) chipset tipped

A user named “Gadget Bits” on X (formerly Twitter) has come up with the chipset and other key details of the upcoming CMF Phone (1) smartphone. However, one must note that the user has no proven track record of leaks and their sources are unverified.

  • The CMF Phone (1) will likely arrive with the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset instead of the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC equipped in the Nothing Phone (2a).
  • The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset is expected to perform like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC on the Nothing Phone (1).

The MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset is the successor of the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC. The chipset flaunts an octa-core CPU with four Arm Cortex-A78 cores running at up to 2.5GHz and four Arm Cortex-A55 cores. It is built on a 4nm process, and this configuration provides a 25 percent reduction in power consumption compared to the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset. It is worth mentioning that the OPPO Reno 12 Pro’s global variant might also feature the same Dimensity 7300.

  • Additionally, the tipster added that the CMF Phone (1) will boast a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz display with symmetrical thick bezels, unlike the earlier tip that hints at a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display.
  • The phone might feature a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, compared to 45W in Nothing Phone (1) and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
  • The base variant of the upcoming phone might feature at least 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage and will operate on Nothing OS-based Android 14.
  • As per the tipster, the CMF Phone (1) will not feature Nothing’s iconic Glyph Interface LED lights, which is a major highlight of the brand’s phones.
  • It might come without NFC support.

Though not confirmed, recent reports hint that the CMF Phone (1) might come at around a starting price of Rs 12,000 and will likely be launched in July in shades of Blue, Black, Green, and Orange, which will likely be exclusive for Indian consumers.
