Realme P1 Pro vs Redmi Note 13 Pro battery comparison: which one’s a better choice?

We recently conducted a performance comparison of the Realme P1 Pro (review) and Redmi Note 13 Pro (review), where the former emerged relatively better, especially when it comes to managing thermals. In certain tests, the Realme P1 Pro showed slightly better power efficiency, but the differences weren’t significant enough to determine a clear winner. Today, we’ll focus on comparing the battery performance of the two smartphones for a better idea. We will also analyse the supported charging speeds.

Let’s take a closer look at Realme P1 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro and determine which smartphone offers a more solid battery performance.

PCMark

PCMark’s battery test provides a good overview of the battery performance when using a smartphone with the most modest settings. Our test includes adjusting screen brightness to 80 percent and enabling flight mode. We are assessing how much time it takes for the smartphone’s battery to drop from 100 to 20 percent under the current settings.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro’s battery dropped from 100 to 20 percent in 12 hours 46 minutes. The Realme P1 Pro survived for 12 hours and 24 minutes. The extra mileage from the Redmi Note 13 Pro was likely due to its relatively bigger 5,100mAh battery.

Winner: Redmi Note 13 Pro

Video streaming

The next test involves streaming a high-quality video on YouTube for 30 minutes while maintaining similar resolution, brightness, and audio settings.

Both Realme P1 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro exhibited a similar battery performance. After 30 minutes of YouTube video playback, the battery dropped by 4 percent.

Winner: Tie

Gaming test

We also ran three moderately demanding titles (BGMI, Realme Racing 3, and Call of Duty) on both smartphones for 30 minutes each. The Realme P1 Pro supports higher graphics in BGMI, but we have maintained the same settings for a fair contest.

After 30 minutes of Call of Duty, the Realme P1 Pro managed thermals better and consumed 7 percent battery. The Redmi Note 13 Pro got warmer but consumed only 8 percent battery, therefore, not a substantial difference. After 30 minutes of BGMI, we observed similar battery performance. This time, the Redmi Note 13 consumed 8 percent battery, while the Realme P1 Pro’s battery dropped by 9 percent. Again, the former generated more heat under stress.

The average battery drop recorded after 30 minutes of BGMI, COD, and Real Racing on the Redmi Note 13 Pro stood at 6 percent, while the Realme P1 Pro dropped by 7 percent. Overall, the differences are too small to distinguish, so it’s fair to call it a tie.

Winner: Tie

Charging speeds

While both phones consume more or less the same amount of battery for similar tasks, one has a clear edge when it comes to charging speeds. The Realme P1 Pro supports 45W charging with the charger included in the box. The Redmi Note 13 Pro supports 67W charging.

The Redmi Note 13 Pro took less time to charge from 20 to 100 percent (46 minutes) despite rocking a bigger 5,100mAh battery. The Realme P1 Pro took 52 minutes to attain full charge from 20 percent.

Winner: Redmi Note 13 Pro

Verdict

If battery performance matters to you, the Redmi Note 13 Pro is a better choice, as it supports faster charging speeds. Both phones offer similar battery performance, though the Redmi Note 13 Pro can be relatively better due to the bigger battery onboard.

However, if the differences aren’t substantial to you, you can check out our performance comparison of the Realme P1 Pro against the Redmi Note 13 Pro for a thorough analysis. We’ve also compared it against Nothing Phone 2(a).
