Phones launching this week: Realme GT 6T, OPPO Reno 12 series, Vivo Y200 Pro, and more

The month of May is getting quite busy, with the first half of the month already seeing a bunch of new launches. Putting that behind us, we are gearing up for another crowded week. As many as eight phones are gearing up to debut, including popular names like the Realme GT 6T, POCO F6, Reno 12 series, Vivo Y200 Pro, and others. 

Here’s a list of phones launching in India and across the globe this week.

Phones launching this week

iQOO Neo 9s Pro

Launch date: May 20th in China

After launching the iQOO Neo 9, the brand will be debuting an offshoot, dubbed the iQOO Neo 9s Pro. The handset is already confirmed to get the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+. This variant has a higher clock speed compared to the standard chipset iQOO will also launch a special NBA gift box for the iQOO Neo 9s Pro. 

iQOO Neo 9s Pro specifications (expected)

  • Display: The iQOO Neo 9s Pro is expected to feature a 6.78 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper and flat edges.
  • Processor: The phone is already confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset.
  • RAM and storage: Up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. 
  • Cameras: The iQOO Neo 9s Pro is tipped to feature a 50MP primary camera and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. There could be a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies. 
  • Battery, charging: 5,160mAh battery paired with 120W fast charging support. 
  • Software: Android 14-based OriginOS 4.0 custom skin out of the box.

Infinix GT Verse

Launch date: May 21st in India

Infinix-GT-20-Pro

Infinix GT Verse is set to launch in India on May 21st. The GT Verse lineup will include the most-hyped Infinix GT 20 Pro, GTBook laptop, RGB headphones, RGB mouse, gaming sleeves, and more. The phone features a Cyber Mecha Design 2.0 for a futuristic design and a Pixelworks X5 Turbo dedicated gaming display chip, which is claimed to offer 90fps high-frame rates. Not much is known about the laptop at the moment.

Infinix GT 20 Pro specifications

  • Display: 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1,300 nits of peak brightness, and 360Hz touch sampling rate.
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate processor paired with Mali-G610 MC6 GPU for graphics.
  • RAM/Storage: 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
  • OS: Android 14-based HiOS 14 custom skin out of the box.
  • Cameras: 108MP OIS-enabled Samsung HM6 sensor, 2MP depth, as well as, a 2MP macro sensor with mini LED. We get a 32MP sensor on the front.
  • Battery: 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging technology.

Price: The Infinix GT 20 Pro will be priced under Rs 25,000.

Vivo Y200 Pro

Launch date: May 21st in India

After the Vivo Y200, the brand is readying the Pro version of the phone. The Vivo Y200 Pro will debut in India on May 21st and is already confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. The teaser image shows the phone will have curved edges and dual cameras. The handset is speculated to be a rebrand of the Vivo V29e.

Vivo Y200 Pro specifications (expected)

  • Display: While the display size is not revealed, the Vivo Y200 Pro will feature a 120Hz 3D curved AMOLED display. 
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC paired with Adreno GPU for graphics.
  • Cameras: The phone is said to feature a 64MP primary camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. There could be a 50MP selfie shooter.
  • OS: The handset is likely to boot Android 14-based Funtouch OS custom skin out of the box.

Price: The Vivo Y200 Pro is expected to be priced under Rs 25,000 in India when launched.

Realme GT 6T

Launch date: May 22nd in India

The Realme GT 6T is set to be the brand’s first GT phone to launch in the country after two years. The company has been teasing features of the phone at regular intervals. It is already confirmed to get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC, a whopping 6,000nits brightness, and 120W fast charging support.

Realme GT 6T specifications

  • Display: The Realme GT 6T is tipped to sport a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1600 nits High Brightness Mode.
  • Processor: The handset will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno GPU for graphics.
  • OS: It is likely to boot Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0 custom skin out of the box.
  • Cameras: The phone is expected to feature a 50MP Sony IMX882 main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. We might see a 32MP Sony IMX615 snapper for selfies and video chats.
  • Others: An IP65 rating, an X-axis linear vibration motor, an IR blaster, and dual stereo speakers. There could be an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
  • Battery: The phone will pack a 5,500mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

Price: Realme GT 6T price in India is leaked to be Rs 31,999. However, this could include bank offers.

OPPO Reno 12 series

Launch date: May 23rd in China

OPPO Reno 12 series is set to launch in China officially on May 23rd. The lineup will include two models: Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro. These will succeed the Reno 11 lineup. The renders of the phones have surfaced online and these show off the colour options as well. The standard Reno 12 is expected to come with MediaTek Dimensity 8300 SoC, while the Pro version will arrive with Dimensity 9200 Star Speed Edition.

Reno 12 series specifications (expected)

  • Display: 6.7-inch OLED display with up to 1.5K resolution, 2772 × 1240 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 1600 nits peak brightness.
  • Reno 12 Pro processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Star Speed Edition.
  • Reno 12 processor: The vanilla Reno 12 is rumoured to get the Dimensity 8250 chipset/Dimensity 8300 SoC.
  • Cameras: 50MP primary camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 2x telephoto camera. 
  • Front camera: We might get a 50MP shooter on the front for selfies.
  • RAM/Storage: Up to 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
  • OS: Android 14 with ColorOS 14 custom skin out of the box.
  • Battery: The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging.

POCO F6 series

Launch date: May 23rd in India and globally

The POCO F6 series is set to debut globally on May 23rd. The vanilla POCO F6 will be launching on the same day and will be sold exclusively via Flipkart. The handset is believed to be a rebrand of the Redmi Turbo 3, which launched in China recently. The POCO F6 Pro is a rebrand of the Redmi K70.

Price: The POCO F6 is expected to be priced at around Rs 30,000 for the base model. On the other hand, the POCO F6 Pro price is leaked to be EUR 619 (approx Rs 55,800) for the 12GB/256GB version.

  • Camera: The POCO F6 is believed to feature a 50MP primary Sony sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide. There could be a 20MP shooter for selfies.
  • Battery: The handset is likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 90W wired charging support.
