Motorola Razr 2024 images appear on TENAA, specs also leak
Motorola seems to be working on a new batch of foldables, including the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra. These will succeed the Motorola Razr 40 from last year. We have come across multiple leaks about the Razr 50 Ultra (might launch in China as Razr 2024 and Razr+ 2024). Now, the Razr 2024 has appeared on TENAA certification, revealing the phone’s design. This is also the first time we see real-life images after the renders leaked.
Motorola Razr 2024 hardware and design revealed
- The Motorola Razr 2024 has received the TENAA certification in China.
- TENAA certification is mandatory for any product launching in China but this reveals quite a bit about the phones ahead of their general release, effectively ruining the suspense.
- The images reveal the complete rear and front design of the phone.
- We see a clamshell design, with the screen folding in the middle. This means there should be a noticeable crease as well.
- The volume rocker and power buttons are placed on the right edge.
- Next, the TENAA images show a large cover screen on the back panel, within this, we also see dual-camera sensors and an LED flash. There is a ‘Moto’ dimple as well.
- The design of the phone looks quite identical to its predecessor.
The TENAA listing also reveals some key hardware specifications. Firstly, we got a confirmation that the foldable will have a large 3.6-inch cover OLED screen with 1056 X 1066 pixels resolution while the main display will be a 6.9-inch OLED screen with 1080 X 2630 pixels resolution. In comparison, the predecessor aka Motorola Razr 2023/Razr 40 has a smaller 1.47-inch AMOLED display.
For context, the Motorola Razr+ 2024’s cover screen stretches unit the hinge, while the Razr 2024’s screen ends just before the hinge. The Razr 2024 packs 8GB/10GB/12GB/16GB and 128GB/256GB/512GB/1TB. The inclusion of 10GB must be place holder at the moment.
The foldable will pack a 50MP primary camera and a 13MP secondary lens. There could be a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. The primary lens is changed from a 64MP lens on the Motorola Razr 2023 to a 50MP unit. The phone measures 171.3×73.9×7.2 mm and weighs 188 grams.
While the chipset details are not revealed, the peak clock speed is mentioned as 2.5GHz. This could be the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset. For context, the predecessor came with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. The TENAA listing shows the phone would pack 1075mAh\ 2875mAh battery but this could be a placeholder at the moment. Rumours suggest the Motorola Razr 2024 will have a 3,900mAh unit, which is a slight bump up from the Razr 2023.
