Leaked iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy suggests bigger display, higher rear camera placement
An iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy unit has appeared online again and the new images show it sitting beside an iPhone 15 Pro Max. This gives us a rough idea of the size and design differences between the two. The phone is already rumoured to have a bigger screen than its predecessor. Let’s see how much difference we can discern from these leaked images and whether that concerns us about its overall size.
iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy vs iPhone 15 Pro Max: screen sizes
- As per the images shared by leakster Majin Bu, the iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy appears to have a larger footprint than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
- It is believed that Apple could enlarge the upcoming top-end model by 0.2-inches. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch fascia whereas the iPhone 16 Pro Max could sport a 6.9-inch screen.
- Since the dummy’s screen is off, we can’t draw a comparison of their bezel sizes. Apple is expected to introduce a new technology called Border Reduction Structure (BRS) to tame the bezels on its forthcoming phones. This could mean more real estate for the user. Also, the company could offer a bigger screen without enlarging the overall dimensions of the phone. So, take these dummy references with a pinch of salt.

iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy vs iPhone 15 Pro Max: rear cameras
- The iPhone 16 Pro Max’s rear camera bump sits slightly higher than its precursor. However, we don’t notice much difference in the size of the lenses.
- The underlying primary sensor on the 16 Pro Max is said to be 1/1.14 inches in size. If true, this will be larger than the 1/1.28-inch sensor on the 15 Pro Max.
- As tipster Ice Universe remarks, a larger sensor could feel and appear larger, especially on a flat-screen design. Let’s see how Apple handles this.
