These POCO phones will get Xiaomi HyperOS soon, company reveals

POCO this week announced a new list of devices that will get the Xiaomi HyperOS update. There’s a host of POCO phones from the F-series, M-series, C-series and X-series that will receive the HyperOS update, including the POCO F4, POCO M4 Pro, and POCO C65. POCO also announced a list of devices that were updated last month. If you’re using a POCO phone, here’s when your device will get the update.

List of POCO phones getting Xiaomi HyperOS update

POCO on X revealed the roadmap for the Xiaomi HyperOS update. It didn’t provide a date but confirmed a list of phones that will get the update in Q2 2024 i.e. between April to June. Here’s the full list:

• POCO F4
• POCO M4 Pro
• POCO C65
• POCO M6
• POCO X6 Neo

POCO also announced that the M6 Pro, M4 5G, and X6 were updated to HyperOS last month. Other phones including the POCO C55, POCO M5, POCO X5, POCO X5 Pro, POCO X6 Pro, and POCO F5 have received the HyperOS update as well. That covers almost the entire portfolio of POCO phones in India. 

It’s worth noting that the POCO X6 Pro was the first phone in the country to launch with the HyperOS update out-of-the-box. It was launched in India in January alongside the POCO X6.

Xiaomi announced the new HyperOS software in October last year. It succeeds MIUI and comes with performance improvements, AI features, smoother animations and minor UI tweaks. HyperOS is based on the latest Android 14 update. Here’s a look at some of its features:

• HyperOS brings faster boot times for apps and longer retention of apps in the background memory.
• With HyperOS, you get minor UI tweaks, and new lock screen customisation options as well.
• It also comes with AI features including AI-generated text through Xiaoai Input Assistant, the ability to capture text on Photos and convert doodles into paintings.
• HyperOS also brings better connectivity on smartphones with the ability to share your mobile data with other devices and receive notifications on big-screen devices.
• This software version also lets you use your phone’s rear camera as a webcam.
