Google is gearing up to launch the Google Pixel 8a in some markets soon. The phone was certified on the Bluetooth SIG website this week, revealing the supported Bluetooth version. From the listing, we also gather the various model numbers the phone could be coming in. This adds to our knowledge about the device, which has been part of several leaks and rumours so far.

Google Pixel 8a Bluetooth SIG certification details

  • The listing reveals the phone will be featuring Bluetooth 5.3 support.
  • We also see its various model numbers viz., G8HNN, GKV4X, G6GPR, and G576D. These aren’t the only models if a previous report is to be believed. In February, we came across the Google Pixel 8a with model number GH2MB on the UL Demko listing.

Google is rumoured to launch the Pixel 8a in more markets this time around. The phone could be available in more than 140 countries including Finland, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia, and Romania.

Besides this, here’s everything else we know about the forthcoming Pixel 8a:

Google Pixel 8a specifications (rumoured)

  • Display: The Pixel 8a could flaunt a 120Hz OLED screen with 1400 nits peak brightness and HDR support. The panel could supposedly be procured from Samsung and BOE
  • Processor: The toned-down Pixel phone could be powered by Tensor G3 SoC. This could be coupled with Mali-G715 GPU.
  • Cameras: We expect the Pixel 8a to share the same 64MP Sony IMX787 primary camera and a 13MP ultrawide shooter as the Pixel 7a. The front camera could be a 13MP Sony IMX712 sensor.
  • Miscellaneous: Among other things, the handset could be bringing an upgraded TPU,  Samsung Modem 5400, a new image processor, and support for AV1 encoding.
  • Colours: It could come in four options viz., Obsidian, Mint, Porcelain, and Bay.
Google Pixel 8a could be pricier than its predecessor and should look similar to the Pixel 8. A Pixel phone in a recent Google Fi Wireless advert (spotted by GSMArena) could be the Pixel 8a. It doesn’t seem to have a mic hole like the Pixel 8. And since it has a matte frame, it can’t be the Pixel 8 Pro (which has a glossy finish) either. Maybe the photo is photoshopped and we are reading too much into it. But if it turns out right, it will be an interesting find.
