Vivo V23 starts receiving Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 update
Smartphone brand Vivo has started rolling out the Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 update for the Vivo V23 5G, which was launched in India in January 2022, alongside the V23 Pro 5G. Late last year, the company listed the devices set to receive the Funtouch OS 14 update based on Android 14, with the Vivo V23 5G included and scheduled for mid-March 2024. The update (via) is available for download over-the-air and weighs in at a hefty 5.5GB. The V23 5G will be updated to version PD2167DF_EX_A_14.2.10.3.W30, along with the installation of the March 1st, 2024 security patch, upon completion.
The update brings a comprehensive set of improvements across various aspects, including customisable options for the lock screen clock, new video editing tools and filters in the Albums app, and improved functionality for multitasking with Small Windows.
Additionally, users can expect enhancements to the Always On Display, Control Center, security and privacy features, widgets, home screen, status bar, and notifications.
Furthermore, optimisations have been made to the preview experience for multi-image or text and image links and system memory usage. The update also includes unspecified bug fixes.
As with previous updates, the rollout may occur gradually, so users should anticipate receiving the update notification on their V23 5G devices over the next few days.
Vivo V23 price in India, specifications
The Vivo V23 5G was launched in India with a price tag of Rs 29,990 for the 8GB+128GB variant, while the 12GB+256GB option was unveiled at Rs 34,990. The smartphone is available for Indian consumers across several platforms, including Flipkart.
The phone comes with a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display featuring a 90Hz refresh rate and a wide-notch design to accommodate the dual selfie cameras.
The Vivo V23 5G is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset and offers up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. It now operates on Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14.
In terms of photography, the phone sports a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera on the rear. For selfies, it features a 50MP primary lens with autofocus and an 8MP wide-angle lens.
The Vivo V23 5G houses a 4,200mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging. Furthermore, the connectivity options include 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and more.
