OnePlus exiting TV and Monitor segments in India, categories removed from OnePlus India website
OnePlus‘ ambitious plans to make its mark in the consumer electronics category in India seem to have fizzled out. The brand has seemingly closed its TV and barely a year old Monitor business exclusive to the Indian market. The move is unsurprising considering the lack of new products in this segment last year. Here’s what we know as of now.
OnePlus TV and Monitor categories removed from OnePlus India website
OnePlus introduced the OnePlus TV Q1 series back in 2019. Since then, the brand has introduced multiple affordable and mid-range smart TVs in India. However, since last year, OnePlus has not launched any new model in the Indian market. We reported last year that OnePlus and Realme are exiting the Indian market, and it seems like it’s finally happening.
While OnePlus has not yet provided an official statement, the brand has removed its microsite for TVs and Displays, which now redirects to a 404 page on the Indian website. There are no mentions of the category on the OnePlus Store page or menu, but the remnants are still left on the website’s footer.
Unfortunately, the brand could also be exiting the Monitor market in India even though the brand released only two products in this segment, the X 27″ and E 24″, launched in December 2022.
There’s no official statement from OnePlus regarding its exit from the TV and Monitor segments. It seems like the BBK-owned brand was unhappy with the results they were getting in the Indian market with these products. This is not the first time a smartphone brand has exited the consumer electronics category in India. Both Xiaomi and Realme have stopped introducing new laptops in the country. However, Xiaomi is still committed to its TV business in the market.
