Vivo Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 announced: features, supported Vivo and iQOO phones

Vivo has announced Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It will be available for a list of Vivo and iQOO phones in India. We have that list but first, let’s learn about the new Funtouch OS 14 features, and as per the company, there are five focus areas for this Funtouch OS 14 update, viz., Personalisation, Productivity, Multi-tasking, Smoothness, and Privacy. Let’s see what each of them entails.

Personalisation

  • You can customise the lockscreen clock in three layouts, eight fonts, and with smart colour selection.

  • From the built-in Theme Store, you can download and use 90+ Always-On Display styles.
  •  If you have dual SIMs on your phone, you can assign different ringtones for each of them.

Productivity

  • Finer video editing tools like 25 new filters and original quality export, even in up to 4K resolution at 60 FPS.
  • Improved video playback with options like controlling video playback speed, option to set loop, fullscreen playback and also capture screenshots from the video.

Multitasking

  • Enhanced multitasking with up to 12 app instances in floating Mini Windows. You also get a side-swipe suspension option, and the ability to move the windows across the screen.

Smoothness

  • RAM Saver will ensure faster app start-ups by releasing up to 600MB of space.
  • Extended RAM 3.0 lets you have up to 36 apps active in the background on a 12GB RAM phone or up to 27 apps on an 8GB RAM phone.
  • App Retainer retains apps in the memory so that you can continue from where you left off.
  • Motion Blur, in this context, refers to the improved animation speed by 18.7 per cent at a 60Hz refresh rate during app switching.

Privacy

  • App Hiding and protect them using passwords as the barrier to entry. This is supported by Googe apps too.
  • Notifications don’t appear while you mirror screens to a bigger monitor.
