Google Pixel 8 Pro passes durability test, beats iPhone 15 Pro Max in bend test
Google‘s new set of Pixel devices are certainly more expensive than their predecessors but also come with considerably upgraded hardware, and a bunch of new software tricks. The Google Pixel 8 Pro was put to the test by popular YouTuber Zack, aka JerryRigEverything, and the phone seems to have done better than its arch-nemesis. Here’s how it held up in the new durability test.
Google Pixel 8 Pro passes bend test without cracks
Google Pixel 8 Pro features a new 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display panel with 2,000-nits of peak brightness protected by a Gorilla Glass Victus 2, like most major Android flagships. Hence, the device performed like just any other smartphone in scratch tests. You can check out the embedded video below.
While the phone doesn’t have a Titanium frame like the iPhone 15 Pro series, it does feature a metal frame for a decent level of durability. In Zack’s test of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the phone’s back glass immediately cracked as he put pressure on the device to bend it. The same is not true for the Google Pixel 8 Pro which left the test unscathed, albeit with unusual creaking sounds.
In case you’re planning to buy Pixel 8 Pro, we believe you can remain somewhat worry-free as Google seems to be providing a good build quality on this device. Further, the lack of a curved display which the Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 series featured should make it harder to crack. The Google Pixel 8 starts at Rs. 75,999 in India while the Pixel 8 Pro will set you back at Rs. 1,06,999.
