iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max back glass repair costs are 2x cheaper than iPhone 14 Pro models
Apple products usually have high repair costs and some days, there’s no repair and just replacement is given as an option. However, Apple made iPhone 14 series repairability quite easy. Now, the company is building on this further by lowering the costs. With the new iPhone 15 Pro series, Apple has reduced the glass back repair or replacement costs. The motive behind the move is not clear but it’s a win for the end consumer.
iPhone 15 Pro repairability costs lowered
Model | Back panel |
iPhone 14 Pro | Rs 52,990 |
iPhone 14 Pro Max | Rs 59,900 |
iPhone 15 Pro | Rs 15,000 |
iPhone 15 Pro Max | Rs 17,000 |
- Apple has added a new titanium frame for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max and these are designed in a way that the back glass can be replaced independently.
- The new frame design lowers the back replacement price significantly from Rs 53,000 for the iPhone 14 Pro to just Rs 15,000 for the iPhone 15 Pro and Rs 17,000 for the Pro Max.
- In case you have an AppleCare+ plan subscription, the price of the repair is Rs 2,500 for both models.
- In comparison, when the back panel of the previous models broke/cracked, Apple had to completely strip the iPhone components to replace nearly the whole body of the phone or sometimes completely replace the device.
- The back panel repairability cost is much lower than the Samsung Galaxy Flip 5’s folding display replacement, which costs Rs 21,188 (for the main screen).
Be it the European Union’s new mandate for easier repairability, USB-C connectivity standardisation, battery swap guidelines, or it is just Apple’s idea of having a design overhaul, the repair costs of iPhone 15 Pro’s back panel are now significantly cheaper and are certainly the most welcome move from the Cupertino giant in 2023.
