OnePlus to stick to Snapdragon SoCs for upcoming Nord series, OnePlus 12, 12R flagships: Report

Chinese smartphone brands, including OnePlus and Realme, are expected to opt for Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets instead of MediaTek for their mid-range and high-end lineups starting next year. Tipster DigitalChatStation has also provided information about the potential chipsets that could be used in the upcoming OnePlus phones.

Upcoming Oneplus, Realme phones tipped to come with Qualcomm chipsets

• On Weibo, DCS mentioned that the OnePlus and Realme phones might use only Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets for their future phones.
• On the other hand, a tipster on Twitter has mentioned the expected chipsets that might be used in the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, and OnePlus Nord 4 or Nord 5.

It’s worth mentioning that OnePlus predominantly relies on Qualcomm chipsets for its flagship phones. However, the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset was used in the recent OnePlus Ace 2V.

The OnePlus 11 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, and the newly introduced OnePlus Ace 2 Pro also features the same processor. Meanwhile, tipster DCS has recently revealed that the OnePlus 12 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

The OnePlus Nord 2 and OnePlus Nord 3 also use MediaTek chipsets. On the other hand, the company’s affordable smartphones, including the OnePlus Nord CE 3 and the Nord CE 3 Lite, pack Qualcomm chipsets.

DCS added that most of the upcoming OPPO smartphones might be powered by MediaTek chipsets.
