Samsung Galaxy S23 FE launch imminent as battery and camera details surface
Though there were constant rumours that Samsung was cancelling the FE (Fan Edtion) lineup, new buzz gave weightage to the fact that we may finally see a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE (with no S22 FE in sight). The last Fan Edition model launched was the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE as the South Korean giant skipped the S22 FE. Now, it appears the brand is gearing up to unveil the Galaxy S23 FE later this year as some hardware details have surfaced online.
Samsung Galaxy S23 FE specs
- The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE’s battery has reportedly cleared the SafetyKorea certification.
- The listing, as spotted by GalaxyClub, shows the phone’s battery will have the model number EB-BS711ABY.
- The handset bears the model number SM-S711.
- Unfortunately, the certification fails to reveal the battery capacity of the phone but speculations are rife that the phone might pack a 4,500mAh battery.

- Separately, a report by WinFuture citing data from import-export databases revealed some details about the prototypes of the alleged device.
- This shows the model number SM-711B, which is allegedly a European variant and explicitly confirms the moniker.
- The database reveals the Galaxy S23 FE will feature a 50MP main camera sensor.
- Furthermore, the entries were not recorded until the end of April 2023, which is shortly after the first manufacturing tools and components were recorded in the same databases.
- “Normally, it takes at least three months for a new Samsung smartphone actually go on sale after the first mention in these databases,” said the report.
- The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is expected to feature the Exynos 2200 chipset. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series ships with the Snapdragon 8 Gen2.
