Yash Raj Films has announced its latest OTT project, a film named ‘Vijay 69’ starring Anupam Kher in the lead role. The movie is based on the story of a 69-year-old man who decides to compete in a triathlon contest. Vijay 69 will be written and directed by Akshay Roy and produced by Maneesh Sharma. While Roy was also the director of the 2017 romantic drama Meri Pyari Bindu starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Parineeti Chopra, Sharma directed Ranveer Singh’s debut film Band Baaja Baaraat.

Vijay 69 first look

The poster reveals Anupam Kher in black and pink sportswear riding a bicycle. Khershared the poster on Instagram and his followers showered praises in the comments section, while one fan even said that Kher looked like Naseeruddin Shah.

Vijay 69 is YRF Entertainment’s third OTT project, with the earlier two being ‘The Railway Men’ and ‘Mandala Murders’. While the former OTT series is about the 1984 Bhopal gas leak tragedy and pays tribute to its unsung heroes (starring R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan, and Divyenndu Sharma), the former is a crime thriller starring actor Vaani Kapoor.

Anupam Kher, who is pretty excited about Vijay 69, played his last part in the Bollywood movie Uunchai starring Amitabh Bachchan, Boman Irani, Parineeti Chopra, and Neena Gupta. Uunchai was released last year on November 11th. The actor is also involved in other projects that are likely to release soon including Emergency, which is directed by actor Kangana Ranaut, Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino, and in IB71 which is an upcoming thriller movie.
