While automakers are devoting resources to the development of high-energy capacity batteries which charge at super-fast speeds, the range still remains one of the most important factors when choosing the right EV. We wrap up the top electric two-wheelers which offer the most range.

Here’s a list of the top nine electric two-wheelers which offer the most range in India at the moment. 

1. Gravton Quanta (320km)

The Gravton Quanta is a moped which relies on an electric powertrain for propulsion. The chassis is capable of hosting two battery packs and combined offers a claimed range of 320km. The Gravton Quanta uses a 3kW BLDC motor which develops a max torque of 172Nm and comes with three riding modes, Eco, City and Sport. The EV also aims to be fairly practical for a moped and has a payload capacity of 250kg (including the driver). The Quanta electric moped will also be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes and a robust suspension setup. The Quanta is also equipped with connected vehicle technology.

2. Ultraviolette F77 (307km)

The Ultravioleltte F77 is one of India’s quickest EVs on sale and also packs in the largest battery pack in an electric two-wheeler at 10.3kWh. This battery pack allows a claimed range of 307km which is impressive considering that it is a 207kg machine and is highly performance focussed. It gets a Permanent Magnet AC Motor that generates a peak torque of 95Nm and a peak power output of 38.8 bhp. This powertrain allows the electric sport bike to do the zero to 60kmph run in just 2.9 seconds and achieve a top speed of 152kmph which is the highest on an electric two-wheeler in India. As for other features, the Ultravioleltte F77 gets disc brakes with ABS, a digital cockpit, connected vehicle tech, IP67 rated battery pack, a 150-section rear tyre, riding modes, etc.

3. iVOOMi S1 (240km)

The iVOOMi S1 electric scooter uses a 4.2kW Li-ion NMC battery pack and pairs it with a 1.2kW motor with a max power output of 1.6hp. This powertrain delivers a claimed riding range of 240km in Eco mode in which the top speed is limited to 40kmph. The battery pack takes about 10 hours to fully charge from zero percent. The battery pack is swappable as well. Other features include – riding modes, 10-inch alloy wheels, disc (f) drum (r), and IP certification.

4. Ola S1 Pro (181km)

The Ola S1 Pro premium electric scooter is a popular choice in its segment. It promises to deliver a claimed range of 181km from its 4kWh battery pack. The Ola S1 Pro also gets an 8.5kWh motor that takes it up to a speedo indicated 116kmph top speed. The Ola S1 Pro also gets features like a 7-inch TFT touchscreen, connected vehicle tech, music playback, disc brakes, 36L under-seat storage, alloy wheels and disc brakes.

5. Vida V1 Pro (165km)

The Vida V1 Pro premium electric scooter is Hero MotoCorp’s bet on the EV two-wheeler market in India. The Vida V1 Pro promises a claimed range of 165km on a single charge. This is thanks to the 3.94kWh removable battery pack powering the EV. The V1 Pro claims a true range of more than 95km. The battery pack can be charged up in 5 hours and 55 mins at home. The Vida V1 Pro uses an electric motor with about 5.2 bhp of peak power and 25Nm of peak torque and this powertrain allows the scooter to sprint to 40kmph from a standstill in 3.2 seconds and goes up to a top speed of 82kmph. The Vida V1 Pro is also kitted out with LED lighting, a 7-inch TFT touchscreen display, dual discs with CBS, riding modes, connected vehicle tech, cruise control, etc.

Okinawa Okhi 90 is one of the more well-engineered electric scooters in India and comes with a 3.8kW motor that can propel the e-scooter to a top speed of 80 to 90kmph. The Okhi 90 is paired with a 72V 50AH Li-ion battery that can deliver a claimed range of 160km. The battery pack is also capable of fast charging. It also gets an ECO mode that limits speed to 60kmph to maximise efficiency. It features 40-litre boot space and a flat floorboard, keyless start, music playback, turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, app support, over-the-air (OTA) updates, Geo-fencing, Find My Vehicle, trip history, driver score, speeding alerts, navigation, etc. Design features include 16-inch alloy wheels,  chrome embellishments, sensor-based LED lighting systems, chunky grab rails, etc.

These send power to the BLDC hub motor with a 2.5kW peak power output. The powertrain can take the scooter up to a top speed of 70kmph. The Okaya Faast F4 features riding modes, LED lighting, tubeless wheels, a digital display, drum brakes and keyless go.

8. Ather 450X (146km)

Ather 450X is a premium electric scooter offering from one of India’s premier EV startups. This EV claims to deliver 146km of range on a single charge which comes courtesy of the 3.7kWh battery pack onboard the scooter. This battery pack is paired to a PMS motor which produces a max power output of 6.5kW and 26Nm of peak torque. This powertrain also helps the Ather 450X go up to a top speed of 90kmph. The battery pack can be charged from zero to 100 percent in 5 hours and 40 minutes at a home charger. The Ather 450X also features disc brakes, 22L of boot space, auto hold, 12-inch alloy wheels, riding modes and IP certifications. The Ather 450X also offers a tried and tested 7-inch TFT colour touchscreen with the company’s AtherStack software which lends the scooter-connected vehicle features.

9. TVS iQube ST (145km)

The TVS iQube ST is TVS’ most kitted-out EV offering and promises to deliver a range of 145km on a single charge. The charge is stored in the onboard 4.56kWh Li-ion IP67 battery pack which takes about 4 hours and 6 minutes to charge from zero to 80 percent via a 950W charger. The scooter gets features like LED lighting, a practical floorboard, disc brakes, comfortable suspension, 12-inch alloy wheels, connected tech, a 7-inch touchscreen, etc.
