MG starts accepting bookings for MG Comet EV, deliveries to begin this month
MG Motors India has started taking bookings for its newly launched MG Comet EV and promises to commence deliveries in May itself. The bookings can be placed for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The MG Comet EV caters to the urban commuter in terms of its design and offers a claimed range of 230km on a single charge. The EV also offers new-age gadgetry which includes dual 10.25-inch colour displays, LED lighting, parking cameras, airbags and ABS.
MG Comet EV price in India
MG Comet EV has been introduced in the Indian market for an introductory price of Rs 7.78 lakh (ex-showroom).
- The MG Comet EV is available in three trim levels, Pace, Play and Plush.
- The base Pace trim level is priced at Rs 7.78 lakh (ex-showroom)
- The mid-spec Play trim level is priced at Rs 9.28 lakh (ex-showroom)
- The top-spec Plush trim has been priced at Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
These prices might change in the future when the introductory batch ends. MG Comet EV gets a 3-year/1.2 lakh kilometre warranty on the vehicle and an 8-year/1.2 lakh kilometre warranty on the battery pack as standard. MG is also offering three years of complimentary Road Side Assistance (RSA) for the Comet EV. The company will also provide a choice of over 80 packages for warranty and service with a starting price of Rs 5,000.
The MG Comet EV competes with the likes of the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV hatchbacks in India. The Tata Tiago EV is priced at Rs 8.69 lakh – 12.04 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Citroen eC3 is priced at Rs 11.50 lakh – Rs 12.76 lakh (ex-showroom).
