Apple to increase battery replacement costs of iPhone, Mac, and iPad from March
Apple is increasing the price of replacing batteries for all its out-of-warranty iPhones starting March, as announced by the company on its website. Furthermore, the Cupertino giant is also increasing the prices of iPad and Mac battery replacements as well. The prices of battery replacements for all models of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 series will increase by $20 (around Rs 1,700). For those unaware, Apple charges $69 (around Rs 5,700) for a replacement on most iPhone models, as per the Apple website. The exact increase in battery replacement cost of iPhones in India is not known yet.
The price hike will impact customers who do not have AppleCare or AppleCare+ for their devices. Customers who have AppleCare+ do not have to pay anything for a battery replacement once their battery health has decreased past 80 percent.

Apple is also increasing the price of out-of-warranty battery replacements for Mac and iPad. MacBook Air battery replacement will see a hike by $30 (around Rs 2,500) and MacBook Pro by $50 (around Rs 4,100). Newer iPad models will see their prices increase by $20 (around Rs 1,650). As said, these price changes will be effective from March 1st, 2023. These prices are excluding tax and there will be an additional shipping charge if Apple needs to ship out models (this is region-specific).
The current Battery Service fee for out-of-warranty iPhone 14 series is $99 (around Rs 8,200), for iPhone 13 and older full-screen iPhones is $69 (around Rs 5,700), and lastly, for iPhones with the home button is $49 (over Rs 4,000). The price change for battery replacements will happen in other countries and regions (probably including India) at the same time as well. The main reason behind the price hike is not disclosed at the moment but we believe this could be attributed to the increased cost of materials and probably the workforce.
