Motorola X40 Pro renders show triple cameras, punch-hole cutout and more ahead of impending launch
Motorola’s next flagship phone will be the Motorola X40 Pro, which might debut as Moto Edge 40 Pro in global markets and in India. The handset is expected to arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC and is expected to be launched sometime in December. Now, while we wait to hear more about the features and hardware specs, the Motorola X40 Pro aka Motorola Edge 40 Pro renders and 360-degree video has surfaced online, courtesy of MySmartPrice in association with OnLeaks.
The images show the Motorola X40 Pro aka the Edge 40 Pro design looks familiar to the predecessor aka the Edge 30 Pro except for the rear camera module. There is the iconic Moto dimple in the middle.
Moto X40 Pro design renders
The Motorola X40 Pro has a centre-positioned punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper and slightly curved edges. The bezels on all corners are pretty narrow so you can have an immersive media consumption or gaming experience. The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge. The top portion houses the speaker grill, while the bottom edge has a USB Type-C port, speaker grill, primary microphone, and SIM tray section.
Moving to the back, there is a square-shaped module that houses triple cameras and an LED flash. One can see the Moto dimple and ‘Motorola branding on the back. The report says the phone will measure 161.3 x 73.9 x 8.6mm (10.8mm thick with the camera module). Though the Motorola Edge 30 Pro came with a plastic frame, the Motorola X40 Pro could get a metal chassis.
Since there is no fingerprint sensor cutout on the side or the rear, it could be placed within the screen. The handset can be seen in Black colour but there could be other options at launch.
Motorola X40 Pro specifications (expected)
The Motorola X40 Pro is expected to sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. The handset is likely to boot Android 13 OS out of the box and pack a 5000mAh battery with 68W fast charging support but the global version might come with 125W fast charging.
As for the cameras, the Motorola X40 Pro will have a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a new 12MP telephoto lens. The handset is expected to have a 60MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The Edge 40 Pro is tipped to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage that might not be expandable.
The Motorola X40 Pro is expected to have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
