OPPO Reno9 series confirmed to feature Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset
OPPO is readying for the launch of its OPPO Reno9 series of smartphones in China. The OPPO Reno9 lineup, including the vanilla OPPO Reno9, OPPO Reno9 Pro, and OPPO Reno9 Pro+, will be unveiled on November 24th in the country. While there have been plenty of reports surrounding the specifications and features of the OPPO Reno9 series in the past, OPPO today has put an official stamp on some of them, including the processor, the software version the series will come out of the box with, and the maxed-out RAM and storage configuration. Let’s take a look.
OPPO Reno9 series processor, memory configuration revealed
Though OPPO has not specifically mentioned as to which device amongst the three will come with these specifications, it will be pretty unusual of them to not tease the specifications of the top-tier variant, so the OPPO Reno9 series will most likely feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor at best, or, in other words, the OPPO Reno9 Pro+ will be the one featuring the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. The mid-tier OPPO Reno9 Pro might also feature the same processor.
Moving on, OPPO has revealed that the device(s) will feature a whopping 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS3.1 storage. However, we can expect the series to come in more memory variants as well. Lastly, the OPPO Reno9 series will boot the latest Android 13-based ColorOS 13 skin out of the box.
OPPO Reno9 Pro specifications (expected)
The OPPO Reno9 Pro was recently spotted on the Chinese TENAA certification authority website, which revealed its key specifications. The device will feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, which will most likely come with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max processor, which will be coupled with 12GB/16GB RAM and 256GB/512GB onboard storage.
In terms of battery, the OPPO Reno9 Pro will sport a 4,390mAh battery with support for fast charging. Coming to the cameras of the device, the OPPO Reno9 Pro will house a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera. At the front, the device will feature a 32MP selfie shooter, which will likely be placed underneath a punch-hole cutout in the top left corner of the device’s display. Lastly, the OPPO Reno9Pro will come in Tomorrow Gold, Black, and Slightly Drunk (gradient) colour schemes.
