Ahead of Mahindra XUV400’s launch, a leaked RTO document suggests that the upcoming compact EV SUV could be offered in three variants. The Mahindra XUV400 which was officially unveiled back in September 2022, is expected to come in Base, EP, and EL variant choices. The variants are likely to differ in features and some mechanical components and will be priced accordingly. Mahindra aims to start test drives across the country by December 2022 and the prices are expected to be launched in January 2023.

The Mahindra XUV400 compact EV SUV is Mahindra’s first mainstream electric SUV for the Indian market. This makes it a crucial product and will pitch the car against some established rivals such as the Tata Nexon EV twins, the Hyundai Kona EV, and the MG ZS EV.

As the name suggests, the Base variant is likely to be the least equipped while the top-spec EL will get the most kit. However, it is unknown if all the colour options will be made available on the lower Base variant.
