Watch: Newly launched Google Pixel 7 Pro disassembled in teardown video
While Google announced its Pixel 7 Pro at the October 6th event and showed us what the phone is capable of, a new teardown video from PBKreviews gives us a closer look at what the phone packs inside. The Pixel 7 Pro is Google’s best premium smartphone you can buy till the next Pixel series comes out. Google offers a one-year warranty on its Pixel 7 series phones if you get them from Google or its authorised dealer. However, Google didn’t disclose whether the warranty applies to accidental drop, wear-and-tear, or – as in this case – disassembly.

The process starts with removing the only removable thing in the entire smartphone, the SIM tray. Next, the sides of the display get heat to loosen up a bit. After removing the screen and the metal cover, we can witness the internal components, including the 5,000mAh battery.
There’s a sizeable graphite film on-boarded on the main board to keep things cool. Digging a bit deeper after disconnecting a few more screws and connectors, we can see the camera setup in full glory. There’s a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 48MP telephoto shooter with 5x optical zoom. The YouTuber also gives us a closer look at the new 10.8MP selfie snapper of the Pixel 7 Pro (down from the Pixel 6 Pro’s 11.1MP).
Lastly, the USB-C charging port seems soldered to the board, and even the glass back is cemented to the frame with glue. This makes it difficult to repair the Pixel 7 Pro. The YouTuber rates Pixel 7 Pro a 5.5/10 in repairability score, so it’s a hard-to-repair smartphone.
