Upcoming OnePlus Pro flagship tipped to launch as OnePlus 11: launch timeline, specifications

After having a busy year, OnePlus is reportedly gearing up for 2023. We have already started hearing rumours and reports about the next flagship, speculated to be dubbed the OnePlus 11 Pro. This is said to arrive as the OnePlus 10 Pro. Much like its predecessor, the phone is expected to launch in January 2023. However, there might be surprises for us. Noted leakster Max Jambor claims the upcoming Pro-speced OnePlus phone will debut as the OnePlus 11 internationally and not the OnePlus 11 Pro. The reasoning behind this is unclear at the moment.

What this means the device we are going to see will have Pro-grade specifications but will not have a Pro moniker. To make it easier to understand, the upcoming OnePlus 11 will have top-end specifications like the OnePlus 10 Pro from earlier this year but will not be called OnePlus 11 Pro.

It’s the OnePlus 11 and not the OnePlus 11 Pro

OnePlus is reported to launch a new flagship phone around the same timeline as the OnePlus 10 Pro. While it was initially believed to dud as the OnePlus 11 Pro considering the naming structure, tipster Max Jambor claims the phone will have Pro-grade specifications but will be marketed as the standard OnePlus 11. This is an interesting development considering the brand will have few other follow-up models down the year.

One possible reason behind this move could be that the standard OnePlus 11 will arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 chipset, while the Pro version might arrive with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen2 SoC down the year. The leaked OnePlus 11 Pro specifications could actually belong to the OnePlus 11 that will debut in January 2023.

91mobiles has exclusively shared the upcoming OnePlus flagship’s specifications. It is said to come with a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper. It is said to ship with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The OnePlus 11 is likely to boot Android 13 out of the box.

Moving to the cameras, the OnePlus 11 is said to get triple cameras, with a 50MP primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 32MP 2x telephoto camera. There is a 16MP camera. The phone is said to pack a 5000mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.

The OnePlus 11 is said to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, Hasselblad cameras, and Dolby Atmos. Connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port can be expected.
