[Exclusive] TCL 40 R design and specifications revealed ahead of launch
TCL 40 R is the company’s upcoming budget offering and 91mobiles has now exclusively obtained the renders and complete specifications of the phone, courtesy of industry sources. The handset will be a 5G offering and comes with a typical design. There is a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, triple camera sensors arranged in a rectangular module and a unique pattern finish for better grip on hands.
Key TCL 40 R specifications include an HD+ 90Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset that enables 5G connectivity, a 5000mAh battery, a 50MP primary camera sensor and up to 128GB storage that is expandable.
TCL 40 R design
The TCL 40 R has a typical budget phone design. There is a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper and a sizeable bezel below the screen. The volume rocker and power button, with a fingerprint sensor is embedded on the right edge. On the back, you find the square module to house triple camera sensors and an LED flash. The phone appears to have a textured finish and will be available in Purple and Black colours.
TCL 40 R specifications
The TCL 40 R is said to sport a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a waterdrop notch to house the selfie snapper. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB storage that should be further expandable. It is likely to run on Android 12 out of the box and pack a 5000mAh battery.
The TCL 40 R measures 164.46 x 75.4 x 8.99 mm and weighs 192 grams. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
Moving to optics, the TCL 40 R packs triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. There is an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats.
