For the past couple of months, we have been hearing rumours surrounding the launch of the Xiaomi 12 Lite. The device has finally been made official, albeit in a pretty weird fashion. Xiaomi’s Azerbaijan Instagram handle has started taking the pre-orders for the Xiaomi 12 Lite, but the official website (so far) has no mention of the device. Nevertheless, the Instagram post gives us a working clue as to what the Xiaomi 12 Lite will look like and what its specifications and features will be. Let’s take a look.

Xiaomi’s Azerbaijan Instagram handle recently posted the pre-order details of the Xiaomi 12 Lite. As per the post, the device can be pre-booked till July 8th via the company’s official website for the country. That, however, has not happened yet, and the device is nowhere to be seen on the website. We can expect this to change soon, though.

Xiaomi 12 Lite specifications

The Xiaomi 12 Lite will feature a 6.55-inch 120Hz refresh rate OLED panel with HDR10+ support. Coming to the cameras, the device will have a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, which will likely be paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Coming to the software, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. Lastly, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will feature a 4,300mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port.

Xiaomi 12 Lite price in India, launch date (expected)

The Xiaomi 12 Lite is expected to be priced around Rs 24,000 to Rs 30,000 in India. The device will most likely launch in the global market in July and could reach the Indian market sometime in Q3, 2022. Although Xiaomi India has not officially confirmed the India launch of the Xiaomi 12 Lite, judging by the successful run of its Xiaomi 11 Lite series of smartphones, it won’t be surprising if the brand take the wraps off its successor, too, in the country.
